The Heritage

What an amazing hotel, from the minute you walk through the doors it’s an experience. We were there for two nights , Friday and Saturday. We had dinner in Blake’s Restaurant on the first night. Food was delicious from start to finish. The staff in the restaurant, nothing was a problem., your food was cooked to order and piping hot served to your table. Second night we had dinner in the bar, waiting staff was brilliant (Ava) I think her name was. Very attentive and on the ball with everything. Very long wait for drinks in fact our starters arrived before our drinks ( not waiting staff’s fault) bar man was more interested in making cocktails than pulling a pint. Half hour waiting on drinks in not so busy bar. Ava was constantly apologetic for this. Our room was amazing, we booked a junior suite, everything you needed was in the room, bath robes, slippers, coffee machine, bottle water, tea and snacks. The bed was so comfortable. Beautiful view over the golf course from the balcony. We had treatments booked in the spa and again it was amazing, the spa experience is second to none. The thermal suites are amazing, spotless and well managed. Staff again are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them. It’s no wonder they have won spa of the year. Would I recommend it, don’t have to think twice , YES indeed, will I be back again, hell yes, it’s pure heaven

I only found this hotel as I was looking for a midway overnight stop on a longer trip from the north to Cork. Every staff member I encountered at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. I had to change the booking dates last minute, there was no issue. I called one night to ask for milk for My toddler and it arrived at the room minutes later, no mention of any charge. Joanne at reception was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I had a great massage in the spa and the thermal suite was lovely - there appears to be a new “Moroccan” area which looked really good although I didn’t have time to try it out. We had a family room And it was spacious with a shower and roll top bath. The only facility in the hotel which was slightly underwhelming was the pool, it’s quite small and fairly basic for a 5 star hotel. The hotel is 15 mins drive from Kildare village which is handy. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Stayed at the hotel recently with a few of my friends. It is a very nice 4* hotel, clean, well laid out, bright and airy and polished. The room I had was large and pleasant. Booked the room fairly last minute and it was €469 for the room for one night which is exorbitant for a room for B&B. The bar is nice and we ate in the Blakes restaurant. The dinner selection was limited and honestly the food was tasteless as agreed by all of us at the table. The breakfast was also poor, had the full Irish and understanding these are mass produced, again a tasteless breakfast. Oh Well.. Staff were great including Anna at dinner on the Saturday night. Anyways, hope this review helps. We did not get to the spa/ gym area. For those staying here to play golf, the course is amazing, just bring extra golf balls… there is lots of water hazards… enjoy.

We have been visiting this Hotel for many years now.. This time for 60th birthday celebration. Overall we enjoyed our stay but feel the quality of food has disapproved . Meal was lukewarm and very limited choice. Tea and coffee extra after meal. On the plus side the Spa is gorgeous and we really enjoyed our treatments. Weather was brutal so walk to Hotel outdoors was not a pleasant experience.

60th birthday celebration . We have been coming to this Hotel for many years mainly due to quality of Spa it never fails to disappoint. However standard of food has definitely disapproved . Food lukewarm and very little choice. Overall we enjoyed night .The weather was horrible so the walk from Spa outdoors to Hotel in a dressing gown was another negative.

Had an appalling experience at a recent stay in the Heritage and would not recommend. The service was horrendous and verging on being non existent. We got our starters however those having soup were given no cutlery, when our deserts eventually arrived, again there was no cutlery and we were eventually greeted with soup spoons and being advised that the hotel was busy and these were the only spoons available. The deserts could only be described as disgusting and the menu left a lot to be desired. Overall, a very disappointing experience for myself and my 8 friends on our annual getaway. Note to self, do not return.

We had a spa/stay and dinner package, it was the perfect little getaway. Got there at 3 check in was seamless. Booked into the spa for 4:00 and we stayed there all evening, nicest spa facilities I’ve seen so far. Had dinner in Seven, food was 10/10 would have liked more dessert options but nothing else I would change. Room was spotless and so comfy, breakfast was great continental buffet and hot breakfast brought straight to the table Lovely 5k walk around the golf course fiancés off the trip perfectly Definitely recommend the heritage

Booked the junior suite plus 3 course dinner and B&B to surprise my partner for her biggie birthday. The arrival was good, very impressive staircase, staff friendly and professional, it promised a nice stay. The junior suit was good, but a bit dark and extremely hot the AC did not work, we had to open the 2 windows to get fresh air in the middle of the night. I told at reception about the birthday and putting a candle on the dessert, the dessert 🍨 came with no candle or nothing, a big disappointed for me, my partner did not know. While the staff were nice, sadly the dinner was a HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. They gave us a set 3 course meal menu with 3 poorly chosen options no fish . I had the Confit pork Belly with black pudding, well it was a big brick of dry pork and black pudding with a burn crust . I couldn't eat it it was truly awful. My partner had the Carrot and goat cheese mousse, but it was not a mousse, it was a white soup at the bottom of a bowl. COOK should go back to le cordon bleu school and practice how to do a confit and a mousse as it was really bad,my partner try jus a bit of the starter but texture and taste were wrong and the 5 hazelnuts were rancid. Then, we both had the chicken and mushroom, on been place at the table il look promising,a good size breast, but the same as the starters it was sooooo dry (both) no jus or sauce, we could not eat it, we brought it home for the doggie, still not eaten in his bowl, the creamy mash was very nice and the ice cream we both chose for dessert was sublime. The breakfast this morning was a nightmare 😫. It took 45 minutes to get served and when the food arrived we could not believe our eyes when we saw the top of the scramble eggs burned, as they had been left too long under the bulb warmers. I had ordered a 2 egg omelette and was served a 3 egg omelette and 2 fry eggs beside it. For a minute I though someone was going to appear and say...you've been framed! The omelette was burned on the top too. The young staff was all over the place, they didn't want to look at the guest because everything was taking so long to come out, even to get another pot of tea we had to wait 15minutes. Big huge DISSAPOINTMENT the food part. It took 1 hour since we had arrived for breakfast. Its not OK to have 1 toaster for a full restaurant I counted 40 people where we were sitting having just 1 toaster. If you called yourself a4 star luxury hotel you need to work harder, training the younger staff. When we left the receptionist did not even asked how was our stay 🙄. I did pay close to €300 for an overnight stay an I feel totally robed of my money as its not ok to apologise for a badly done job after the hotel keeps the money.

This is a long overdue review since we had our wedding in the Heritage in September 2023. From our first meeting with Sinead, our wedding co-ordinator to the second day of our wedding weekend, the staff at the Heritage were nothing short of amazing. I just want to say a massive thank you for giving myself and Rebecca a weekend that we will never forget. I want to give a big thank you to Sinead and the Wedding team for all of the help you gave Rebecca and myself when it came to our wedding. Any query and request we had you did not hesitate to accommodate it for us. The entire weekend went off without a hitch and our wedding day was stress free in no short part due to the professionalism of the entire team. All staff on the day were so lovely and so kind, the food is still being raved about and the whole venue was just incredible. I want to give another big thank you to Alan the Deputy General Manager who ensured that not only Rebecca and I were looked after but also that all of our guests were catered to up to the highest standard. The Heritage is lucky to have someone like Alan on their team and anyone who considers the Heritage as their venue will have the most amazing experience as a result of Alan and the hotel. Another big thank you to Kevin in hospitality who looked after us over the weekend. We didn’t have to ask for anything due to Kevin and his team’s attentiveness to us and our guests. The rooms, food (which is still being raved about), venue, service, breakfast, and facilities are out of this world. I cannot express enough gratitude to the whole team at the Heritage for making our day as incredible as it was. We would recommend the hotel to any couple who are getting married, don't even give it a second thought. Thank you to the entire team for making our weekend so perfect.
