The staff were lovely but I would say the rooms could do with some TLC. The walls were chipped and scraped and the seal along the shower screen was dirty and old and there was a stain on the carpet and a musty smell in the room. I wouldn’t say the rooms are 5 stars but the bed was great.

Unique building which is amazing situation by the river and overlooking the golf course. Investment made and being up graded staff service and helpfulness excellent and the restaurant food amazing. Been here before and will continue to return.

Fabulous location with stunning views across the Clyde. Stayed overnight before a hospital appointment for my elderly mother at the Golden Jubilee Hospital. Only 12 minutes away across the Erskine Bridge. The staff did everything they could to support our needs. A fabulous accessible room, friendly service and lovely food. The hotel public areas are spectacular examples of Victorian architecture and design. The hotel is at the beginning of a refurbishment and will be stunning when finished. My fear is that we will no longer be able to afford it! Thanks to all the staff for helping my Mum feel welcome and relaxed before her hospital appointment.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and my spa treatment the best. My husband and I had a superb overnight stay. We had lunch, evening meal and breakfast all first class. My only complaint was that we could not stay another night. Great great great!!!

The building and views are beautiful, however this unfortunately is not a 5 star hotel anymore.
The potential for this place is immense, however in the current state it does not reflect the hotel description.
Our room was a deluxe double, good size and design superficially looked great. However the handles on the wardrobe were broken off on one side, paint chips off the headboard and wardrobe. Marks on the carpet. The shower doors were broken.
The main issue was the smell of damp throughout the corridors, skirting boards rotting in places and peeled wallpaper and leaks/peeling paint on the ceiling. It did not reflect 5 star luxury.
The staff were lovely and very polite.
I know this hotel has recently been taken over and hopefully the new owners will invest to return it to its former glory.

Awesome place! Very romantic and historic and atmosphere is amazing!

I’m happy to have this experience!
But quite old facility, a lot of mould.
Spa is quite scary, old communication and it is not pleasant to stay there, especially when no one other here

Great, grand old building. Beautiful but hard to heat in sub zero temperatures, as we found out.
Service great. Did take seriously the one issue we had but no follow up, even though an injury happened (slid in shower)
Food was on the whole good. Less care on breakfast when there was a quiet service.
Think there was a sense this hotel is having a tough time still financially, and would benefit from some money spent on it, and just raising the levels just up a notch. That said, nothing bad and service generally very good
I would absolutely visit again, but during spring summer early autumn.
