3-Star Hotels in Killarney

I have travelled all over the world and slept in some awful places, but this is at the bottom of the pile. When you walk in it feels dirty and uncared for, and there's a smoky, unclean smell in reception. We had paid upfront and therefore didn't leave immediately, and were shown the bedroom, I was in shock at the state of the place, beds sunken and carpet worn. We decided we couldn't stay there and asked for our money back. They agreed to return out money but the boss wasn't there, we returned twice and have written to them, with no response. The only thing to say after this experience is avoid at all cost, and don't believe the fake good reviews.

Murphy’s Townhouse combines great hospitality with a superb town center location. We offer twenty spacious rooms all en-suite, with elevator access.Easily accessible from the main bus & train terminals and adjacent to public car parks, shopping areas and on the doorstep of Killarney’s National Park with its breath-taking scenery.Murphy’s Bar, a traditional Irish Pub serves great food daily from 12noon to 9pm. and offers live music nightly during the summer season.

Excellent location. The room was very spacious with two beds which were very comfortable and the room temperature could be easily adjusted. Very clean bathroom and shower. The staff were efficient and friendly. I stay here on many occasions for work and I love the food especially the breakfast buffet, this hotel is one of my favourite hotels to stay in when I am working in the Kerry area. I would highly recommend it to anyone. There are shops a short walking distance from the hotel and the town centre is only a short drive or Taxi ride away. Well worth a visit and this hotel is exceptionally good value especially given the standard of the room and the excellent breakfast. Well done to all the staff for making it an enjoyable stay.

We came across this hotel by pure chance. The entrance inside and courteous reception staff was a welcome after a long drive. The corridors and room were clean as if it had a refurbishment and my room was lovely, spacious and the view from the window was a tree canopy, personally I loved it; sitting on the windowsill and tune in with nature listening to birds singing - relaxing. The food was superb and catered for my elderly Mother thank you; great atmosphere too. I didn't avail of the leisure centre as it was 9am opening due to an early start on the road, but I will next time. I would say the front of the building would need painting but no doubt that is on the cards and a few window hinges need looking at, that being said couldn't fault this hotel and would put some five star hotels to shame. A gem of a find and look forward to returning- thank you.

This is a terrific hotel in a prime location for driving the Ring of Kerry and visiting attractions in Kenmare and Killarney. The hotel staff are uniformly friendly and helpful; the food and drink at the hotel are first rate (we ate one meal in the restaurant - evening and another in the bar - evening as well as breafkasts). We highly recommend this hotel!
