Stayed 2 nights for a family wedding- service was excellent, food in the bar was very good, food at wedding was of a very high standard for a wedding reception, bedroom very spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and coffee was very good. Would highly recommend.

We stopped to have sunday lunch. The young girl acting as the maitre de for the bar/restaurant was the most impolite girl I have met. She didn't even greet us. She just looked at us and said yea? We left and went to Murphys in town and had a lovely dinner/lunch and the staff was super.

Good and not so good. The location is nice outside of town. Plenty of free parking. Check in smooth with a friendly desk clerk. We were tired and had a bite to eat in the restaurant. Very nice. The food was good. Room was nice. Big tub and shower. We both took long baths after hiking 7 miles during the day. Wifi was fast and stayed constantly connected. They gave us a fan to move the air around. That was nice. The fan had a timer on it and would only stay on 2 hours at a time. Weird. The room had a single bed and a full bed. When we got in to bed we sunk into the middle. It was like sleeping in a hammock. My wife ditched me and went to the single bed. You could hear any noise from the other rooms and from the hallway. Bottom line not a good night's sleep. The breakfast in the morning was good. Killarney was booked the weekend we were there and we were only able to get 1 night at the Killarney oaks hotel. Turned out to be a blessing.

This is a very nice hotel, well maintained, excellent rooms, but tiny bathrooms with washbasins dating back to two centuries ago: two separate fawcets! The bar is good and food is nice as well. Staff friendliness is something that still has to be invented though

So we stayed last night for 1 night. Checked in and the room was just lovely. Very well decorated and you could tell a lot of thought went into the design. Overall it is a lovely hotel. Great lobby very nice bar. We dined in the bar last night and the food and service were excellent. Not a single issue. Staff could not have been nicer. However this morning was not so good. We looked forward to a lovely breakfast considering our experience the night before with the excellent food in the bar. The breakfast was shocking to say the least. We went for breakfast at 09.30. So the cold offerings were fine .But the hot buffet was obviously not been checked by anyone. The hash browns were overcooked and inedible. The fried egg tray was empty, scrambled eggs were , again , inedible they had been there so long. Sausages were over cooked and only barely warm. I did have 2 sausage as there was really no other option. Also no mushrooms in the tray. It wasn't that they were short staffed. They had 4 or 5 servers so for me no excuse. One of the staff should have the responsibility to monitor the buffet. I did mention this at checkout, They say your last impression of a hotel will be its breakfast prior to checkout. Not at all good on this occasion . My wife and I are retired and we stay in hotels 2 or 3 times a month .We dont expect perfection all the time but with the rates people are now paying for hotel stays a good breakfast in the least we can expect. This will explain the 3 star rating

Attended a wedding here in August, from start to finish the team at the Oaks could not have done enough for the wedding couple or their guests. The arrivals reception was second to none with plenty of food that just kept coming, the prosecco wall was so impressive and I was afraid to touch the chocolate fountain but it looked delicious! Tara the wedding co-ordinator was on hand from when we walked in all through the evening and was genuinely so lovely and helpful. The meal was out of this world and I service can't be faulted. Coming from a hospitality background we can be hard to please but 10/10 the Oaks blew us both out of the water. Keep up the amazing work guys :)

If you want to experience a top class dining experience, with every morsel delighting your taste buds, created and presented by brilliantly trained staff, whose care, kindness and attention to detail was second to none, in a spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated venue, then The Killarney Oaks Hotel is a destination you have to put on the top of your travel plans. With stunning mountain views, situated on the Muckross Road in Killarney, you could not ask for a better setting. The welcome by staff at the reception desk, in the bar and restaurant, does not alone do justice to the warm welcome of Kerry, but of Ireland... absolutely outstanding is all that can be said.

Once again the staff were amazing at this hotel, the hotel itself is a beautiful place to stay, Ana in the restaurant was so helpful as were all the staff, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I hope to stay there again in the near future...I had 20 German guests also staying at the hotel and they were all of the same opinion....Fantastic....well done guys..

I suppose the risk of arriving after 7pm to check in for one night is that you take whatever room they offer. I was staying for the first time on business at the Kilkarney Oaks Hotel. From the outside it seems like a nice hotel and as soon as you enter the spacious and luxurious foyer you get the feeling that this is no ordinary 4 star hotel. The decor is beautiful, between the freshness of grey tones and the crystal chandeliers, no expense has been spared. Check in was fast and pleasant and I was assigned my room. However, the room was a slight let down. The size was no bigger than I would expect from any Itish hotel room. But I wasn't expecting it to be crammed full of beds! I was staying as an individual, but had the choice of a small double bed or either of two single beds. I thought it was like Goldilocks choice, but I refrained from seeing if one was too hard, one too soft and one just right! If this was considered a family room them it was for a tiny family who liked living on top of each other. I had to rearrange furniture just to get to the window to close the curtains. As a businessman I tend to get to my room and stay in it until bedtime. But this room was very unwelcoming. Don't get me wrong, it was spotlessly clean, fresh and felt like it had just been totally redecorated. It just wasn't a nice place to be because of the number of beds along with a table and 2 chairs. I'm glad I only stayed 1 night. I might give it another go the next time I'm in Killarney but I'll be more circumspect about defining what is acceptable as a place of comfort.
