Outer Banks Beach Club

Worn out large time share complex. Unit we stayed in was a time piece from the 1980's. Still had an oversized jacuzzi tub. There was an electric short in the unit, if TV was on when the heat kicked in, TV would flash off. Cracked floor tile and missing grout. Veneer on interior doors was peeling off. Racoons are in the area and would crap on the open air decks - no one cleaned up after them. You could also see where racoons scratched to get into the unit.

The location was great, close to everything. The resort needs an yp grade, but we had everything we needed.

The resort looks great- nice location, pools, and big rooms- but the management is a disaster. We booked 4 nights through ******* and got a call the next day saying we’d have to switch rooms halfway through. Annoying, but we adjusted. When we arrived at 5:15pm the front desk was already closed and security checked us in. He tried to charge me $400 instead of $49 and knew nothing about our room switch. The next day, I stopped by the office to talk to an actual receptionist and the front desk confirmed we had to move the next day before noon but not an exact time. We packed early and sat around waiting for a call, but housekeeping showed up at 11:15 saying we should already be out. She didn’t know anything either and after multiple calls told us the room was “almost ready.” We ended up stuck outside in the heat with all our stuff, including groceries, until after 1 pm. I asked for a manager, but no one ever came. All we got was late keys, excuses, and a cup of stale popcorn. The resort itself is fine, but the staff and management have zero communication. If they tell you you’ll have to switch rooms, cancel your stay. It’s not worth the hassle.

Our first trip to the outer banks was made that much more enjoy finding this gems of place to stay in KDH. Clean, well run, and courteous staff added to the very comfortable bed and the community feeling of this property, will now be on our list for next summer. You can’t go wrong!

Wish the beds were more comfortable- overall happy with our experience. Also our unit did not have a Wi-Fi password anywhere so we had to call security to come get it to us. I wish that was a little bit more convenient.

The OBBC resort is a wonderful and relaxing place. Their 1, 2 and 3 BR units (OBBC II has 2 BR, OBBC 1 has 1 & 3 BR) are spacious, with amenities for cooking in, they also have community charcoal grills, and are close to a wide variety of restaurants.
