Average standard/quality/experience. We booked last minute and got a great deal with breakfast included as we were going down to Kilkenny to sight see/explore. Check in was prompt and car parking easy accessible. You get what you pay for kind of deal. The rooms are unloved and lacking. Peeling worktops/ cracked tiles/ stained dusty lampshades/broken windows, general wear and tear so don’t expect more than that. The one major flaw within the rooms was the pillows , they were like sandbags, I have never seen worse! A few very poor nights sleep, it was impossible to get comfortable. Definitely not recommended if you have neck/back problems. The general ambience in the hotel again, lacking. The hotel constantly smelt of food/fryers which crept up to the rooms. No music in the front foyer nor the bar/restaurant when we visited one evening-it was silent. Breakfast was included within the deal but the selection is minimal and standard average/poor. Hot food all overdone, eggs scrambled untill they couldn’t scramble anymore and everything was just covered in oil. The mini pastries were all bought in. When given tea/coffee both mornings, the pots were dirty from previous users, covered in butter/hairs/fingerprints. Like mentioned, you get what you pay for. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel but just some faults that did affect the standard of our stay. If you’re looking somewhere handy to sleep then it is ideal.
