Second stay here.We booked 2 rooms to meet up with friends.We were unsure until the last day as to whether we could make it due to an ill relative.We had explained our situation to the hotel and we received a very personable,friendly and genuine call from reception to say if need be our stay could be rearranged-it was superb customer service and much appreciated. Thankfully we could make our stay.

The Kilkenny River Court Hotel is just a little slice of heaven in the heart of a buzzing Kilkenny city. The management and staff are so friendly and helpful. It's so nice to arrive at a hotel and see friendly smiling faces. We had the evening meal in the restaurant, and I honestly think it's one of the best meals we've had anywhere. The portions are absolutely huge. The beds and pillows are so comfortable. And the views are just absolutely beautiful. We will be back as often as possible ♥️

We arrived in Kilkenny with no clear plan on where to stay. We found the River Court Hotal on TripAdvisor and it seemed like the right spot and so it was. The entry was very classy and the staff helpful. We were given a room overlooking the river and the castle and was very enjoyable. The manager gave us where to go and how best to get around the “triangle”. We went for a walk and hiked over to the cathedral to witness sunset the views of the church in the sun amazing. We closed the evening at Lanigan’s with food, drink, music and some new friends from France. The next morning we had a great traditional Irish breakfast and left refreshed.

Really comfortable hotel in a a brilliant location. Staff were amazing and the hotel was great value. Very nice breakfast. Hotel a little dated but for the price you could have no complaints. No gym but not an issue as close to a lovely route along the river.

I’ve stayed here numerous times for many years now and I love the location the comfort and staff . We stayed in the Ormand suite with family next door . It was perfect , time spent together in the comfort of this room with a view of the castle by night was just magic . The staff are all so nice and helpful . Breakfast is always good . Location is perfect to enjoy Kilkenny

We had the most incredible wedding day at the River Court Hotel, with our ceremony and celebration held in the beautiful Bridge House. Everything about the day exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to Sharon, Keira, and Noel – their support, professionalism, and warmth made all the difference. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we felt completely at ease. The setting was simply magical. The breathtaking backdrop of Kilkenny Castle added a romantic touch that made the whole day feel like a fairytale. Our guests were blown away by the view, and it made our photos even more special. We’ll be forever grateful to the amazing team at the River Court Hotel for helping us create such unforgettable memories. If you’re planning a wedding, we couldn’t recommend this venue – and its wonderful staff – highly enough.

Our room was so cold. The answer was they would turn it up. We were out for hours and came back to find our room cold. They said they would bring a space heater. We asked about the safety of a heater on carpet. They told us no worry it is on wheels. It was on a stand. They also brought a brown scratchy looking blanket that we chose not to use. When we woke in the morning it was so hot. You will have no control. The bed was uncomfortable. If you have a mobility issue - they do have a lift but you still must go up a few stairs along with carrying your luggage up stairs to get to lift. The carpet was dirty in our room. You could see hallway lights around the sides of the door. The location is great. The food for breakfast was really good. Parking can be tricky due to limited spots. I doubt I would try this one again.

This is primarily a wedding/party location, so I'm sure it is great for that. Very loud, though, if that's not why you're here. It is nicely decorated, but be aware there will probably be a large party going full blast until well into the night. In my hallway, it was mostly kids running up and down the hallway and slamming doors all night. Some of the doors slam extremely loudly--the automatic closers are not well adjusted on some of them (it only takes a screwdriver to adjust them). There is technically parking here, but it is incredibly tight (not a parking lot, but cars squeezed in around the edges of the building. It was completely full with party-goers anyway, so I would try parking in the shopping center garage across the river if you're traveling by car.
