City Park Hotel Kyiv
4.6/51 Reviews
The hotel is small, very clean and comfortable. Ideal for business trips to Kiev. Service very polite, comfortable rooms, fridge and TV in every room. The choice of channels on the TV is limited. Overall a very good price-quality ratio. If you have tried large Kiev hotels smelling of the Soviet era, you will be pleasantly surprised. The only thing that could be improved is breakfast, witch is poor and not varied. Poor selection of cold cuts and cheese. There are a few items that are more suitable for dinner than for breakfast. Oh, such a local tradition.

I lived in a standard room. It was very clean and comfortable. The room had everything you need and bathroom accessories. the food was very tasty. I had breakfast included. So it's more profitable. The staff was very friendly! overall a great hotel!
Vozdvyzhensky Boutique Hotel
4.4/56 Reviews
The Vozdvyzhensky looks nice from the outside. It's in a very wealthy part of the city, surrounded by money-laundered art and fashion houses dripping with corruption. Our stay was ghastly, and I would urge anyone thinking of staying here to sleep rough by way of preference. What makes it so awful - as is true of any venue - is the usual: our room was cramped (”boutique” shouldn't equate to tiny), there was neither tea nor coffee in our room, the air-conditioning didn't work, and - unforgivably - the service was atrocious. The lady working at reception couldn't have done less for us, and she appeared genuinely put-out that we had chosen the Vozdvyzhensky for our stay. Her ice-pick features and rude responses to simple questions (noting that she spoke good English) extended to the overt kick-back arrangement she was operating with the ”one” taxi service the Hotel used in the city. A journey from the Hotel to the airport should cost no more than 550H. She quoted just under 800. Fortunately, the driver agreed to take us for 600. We were happy to tip him. The breakfast was again dreadfully served (although our poached eggs were very fine), and not one of the staff smiled or thought even to engage with us, or the other guest with whom we shared breakfast. Rudeness is unacceptable in a hotel over-charging like this place, and we would never under any circumstances return. This is an appalling hotel - made pathetic by its hilarious use of coffee-table pornography in the lobby. Go instead to the Hotel Opera. The receptionist at the Vozdvyzhensky should probably do the same and learn a thing or two.
