Soames Hotel & Jack' s Bar

Really great stop in Nanyuki. The service is great. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms are beautifully decorated and amazing views of Mt Kenya. Great bar and restaurant. The breakfast was especially delicious and was served quickly and efficiently. It’s great stop if you are visiting Ol Pajeta or mt Kenya.

our stay at Soames with my family will remain to be memorable. The restaurant is nestled at the foot of mount Kenya and while in it, the views for the mountain are astonishing ...the staff were friendly right from Samuel. As a tour and travel operator, I will recommend my clients to the restaurant

I stayed here twice on my journey through Kenya and found it to be a wonderful place to spend the night while en route to other destinations in Kenya. The location is idyllic and the property is extremely pretty. The outdoor dining terrace is beautifully located overlooking a lovely pond. The food was delicious and the staff simply lovely.

Stayed here over Christmas 2023 for a family re-union. There are only 12 rooms available in the hotel, so it does not get unbearably full. The setting is facing Mt Kenya, and the rooms provide for a beautiful early morning view of the mountain peaks when visible. The rooms are well designed, and spacious enough with a side study and large bathroom, with walk in shower. This is not self catering, and there is a nicely designed restaurant on the grounds with an ok a la carte menu. Overall the experience was very good. The staff are excellent and bent over backwards to help as we had an infant, preparing special meals for her. The main draw back of the place is that there is not much to do in the day especially if you have kids, so plan for day trips around Nanyuki for activities.

We spent 2 days in Soames Hotel, a very quiet place. The room was spotlessly clean. The food was excellent and the staff very nice. This hotel is highly recommended, close to mount Kenya and not far from Samburu NP.

Our night at Soames (wish it could’ve been longer) was the ultimate delight after 8 days on Mount Kenya. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable with a stunning view over Mount Kenya. The staff ensured that the hot water was turned on so that we could have a much-needed shower once we arrived. The beautiful garden brimming with different types of birds was the perfect place to spend the afternoon with a chilled bottle of wine. Upon hearing of our engagement on the top of Mount Kenya, Phillipa provided us with complimentary starters to a faultless and delicious dinner. Lourentia (I hope I have remembered the name and spelling correctly) was our waitress and was perfectly attentive. We had an early pick up the following morning, so the team ensured that our breakfast was packed and ready-to-go the evening before. It was just as tasty as our dinner from the night before. Overall, splendid room, impeccable service and delicious food. Thank you to Phillipa and her wonderful team. We will be back!
