Soames Hotel & Jack' s Bar

A heaven of peace and tranquility close to Nanyuki. Beautiful grounds and nice "chalet" type rooms well appointed. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere of Soames is like a little piece of paradise. " home" away from home. The staff is efficient and very pleasant. A great place to stay and relax.

Stayed here before and after our Mt Kenya trek. Lovely rooms, great food, excellent staff, reasonable wine list, what's not to like? The only thing I would say is that one small bottle of drinking water per person in the rooms is not enough. It goes against the grain to have to keep buying water from the bar, to just keep hydrated in the bedrooms. But overall really good stays!!!

our stay at Soames with my family will remain to be memorable. The restaurant is nestled at the foot of mount Kenya and while in it, the views for the mountain are astonishing ...the staff were friendly right from Samuel. As a tour and travel operator, I will recommend my clients to the restaurant

Beautiful scenario and view of Mt Kenya. Small pond with ducks. Different sounds and species of birds. Peaceful and quiet. Small bar......cold beers. Beautiful city under the light of various stars 🌟 , makes you wanna sleep under them. Good portions of food

Stayed here over Christmas 2023 for a family re-union. There are only 12 rooms available in the hotel, so it does not get unbearably full. The setting is facing Mt Kenya, and the rooms provide for a beautiful early morning view of the mountain peaks when visible. The rooms are well designed, and spacious enough with a side study and large bathroom, with walk in shower. This is not self catering, and there is a nicely designed restaurant on the grounds with an ok a la carte menu. Overall the experience was very good. The staff are excellent and bent over backwards to help as we had an infant, preparing special meals for her. The main draw back of the place is that there is not much to do in the day especially if you have kids, so plan for day trips around Nanyuki for activities.

I have always felt a sense of home whenever I visit Nanyuki it's always a breath of fresh air from the city but this hidden gem fills you with the warmth of Sunday roast at your favorite Aunt's. It's a sight for sore eyes and the welcoming staff make the place even more lovelier. An absolute treat for Interior Design lovers, each corner is delicately, thoughtfully created. A token to minimalism and rustic design with the absolute best potato fries I have had in the country. There's a diverse menu crafted from the freshest ingredients. I had the best labour weekend stay with my family and my only regret was not staying long enough. Thank you to the wonderful staff and especially to Ibrahim who received us at the car park in the midst of gnarly afternoon showers. This is what a staycay should feel like.
