Nothing prepares you for the dramatic location which only reveals itself a couple of kilometres away. A stunning location and a very attractively designed lodge. The room (5A) was on two levels and could sleep 4. The bed was very comfortable. There is air conditioning but we didn't need it. The only minor issue was that the shower was feeble. Sundowners up on the ridge were fun. The Eagle's Nest restaurant up there also looked fun but is small and was fully-booked. Not an issue though because going back down the lodge was maybe best done before rather than after supper, and the food in the lodge was excellent. Perfectly cooked fillet of oryx. The bar is in a nice location and you can also sit in a number of different spots each with a lovely view. We did the short walk to and from the Vinger itself which took just under an hour in total.

We stayed for one night in the Honeymoon Suite. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome at the reception and enjoyed a light lunch in the restaurant. Whilst waiting for checking (we arrived quite early) we went for a walk around the premises and a drive around the fenced off Vingerklip Area. Walking around the lodge I already noticed some areas are due for maintenance and a lot of empty glades were left at the pool area. Since we stayed in the honeymoon suite up on the mountain our luggage was dropped up to the suite for us in a lift whilst we were guided up the staircase by an employee. The fact our luggage had to be dropped up seemed to be rather an inconvenience. The honeymoon suite itself did not match the images online. It looked like a small refurbishment was done so the furniture itself looked nice however the overall suite wasn’t nicely renovated or clean, it rather looked in need of some fixing up. The private pool from the images did not exist anymore. It used to be a pool where you can go from the inside the suite part of the pool outside. This is now filled with stones. We had dinner up in the Eagles Nest. The outside terrance such as wooden planks are trip hazards in some places and also overdue some renewing and fixing. The food was very nice, we felt rushed through dinner tho as it closed straight after dinner. I guess to get guests down safely after food and drinks down the staircase. I would have been great to know about this in advance. The views from the Eagles Nest were stunning. Based on the overall experience I would consider to come back for the views and dinner experience however would not recommend the honeymoon suite experience as it’s absolutely not worth the money.

This Lodge and location is stunning! So many areas to sit, relax and enjoy the views. Lovely pools and lounging areas, with shade. Great walks around the farm- to the Vingerklip and within the bush. Waterholes provide good sightings of baboon, springbok, giraffe and other mammals. Lovely room with great terrace. Food was fabulous, both at the Lodge and at the Eagle's Nest restaurant atop the adjacent rock formation. If you can go up there for sundown and dinner- it's a treat. Thank you- Richard & Colin, Vancouver, Canada

As a Namibian traveller and outdoor lover.... this lodge is the place to stay! If you are looking to clap your hands so that the lights come on.. then dont stay here! My experience was truly awesome... hike to the Vingerklip, drive to the Vingerklip, cycle to the Vingerklip, take a jog to the Vingerklip? Take the hike up to the mountaintop bar and restaurant... the view is absolutely amazing... the sunsets are truly the best! Photographers paradise! I found the staff very friendly, the management are great people... there are two pools to cool down in.... overall.... it was absolutely great! Well done Vingerklip Lodge! I will be back!! Ask them about the game drive to the neighbouring game farm... it was just as awesome! Dont only go for one night!! You will miss out on so much....

One of the most beautiful lodge I stayed in my trips to Namibia. I would have stayed two nights instead of one! Our chalet was very nice and had a balcony with a lovely view. The chalets are scattered on a small hill that is covered by beautiful succulent plants. Food is good, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a lekker buffet with a choice of game meat and vegetables. Staff is very kind. Location is very good, landscape is fantastic, the view is stunning on every side and you can walk to the Vingerklip in 30 minutes. I enjoyed a lot the sunset from the “Eagle’s Nest” terrace bar. To improve: there isn’t a fridge in the room, it could be useful even in winter, since it was quite hot when I was there in August, I think it is fundamental in summer.

Wonderful accommodation with stunning views from the bedroom and balcony. Gardens full of cacti with sunbirds and the cute daisies rats occasionally popping up. We were lucky and had one of our dinners served outside at the fire pit, which was amazing, and the other lovely meal was up at the Eagles nest. A very generous breakfast is served. Walking to the Vingerklip is probably about 20 mins. Will return..

We stayed at Vingerklip for one night on the way from Swakopmund to Etosha. We had a really lovely warm welcome from the lady on reception and cool towels and a cold drink which were very much appreciated after a long journey! Be warned the roads leading up to Vingerklip really aren’t great, although I’m not sure the hotel is responsible for this. The main lodge building is very nice and feels authentically African. Food in the main lodge was average, however experience in eagles nest was exceptional, unmatched sunset views of an incredible landscape surrounding the lodge and good food too. Pool was also lovely but some updated furniture is needed here. Sadly our room let Vingerklip down - tired mismatched furniture, the bathroom in particular was very tired, shower was not acceptable - mouldy and in dire need of refurb. No complimentary tea coffee or bottled water in the room and although this is available in the main lodge as our room was quite far from here these basic facilities in the room would have been nice. We appreciate that Vingerklip doesn’t market itself as a super luxurious lodge, but don’t feel that’s an excuse given we stayed at other locations in Namibia at a similar price where the rooms were much better. I think if rooms were updated, this place could be truly brilliant.

We throughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at this lodge. Surrounded by amazing semidesert scenery with rock formations, the lodge is well designed to blend in with natural rock paths and terraces. The rock gardens are beautifully planted with flowering desert plants from the region. Chalets very comfortable with private patios overlooking the scenery. Two very attractive swimming pools. The entire camp is supplied by solar power including air conditioning. Half board included in the price and considering the remote location the food is excellent - delicious venison both nights. Nice short hikes around the area.

We were very confused by all the good reviews of this lodge as unfortunately it was easily the most disappointing of our trip. Our room felt tired and dated with bulky and mismatched furniture that made the room feel very small. There were lots of paint chips on the walls and furniture and our shower tap had not been properly attached and fell off. It was one of the only places we stayed where there wasn’t a mini fridge in the room (including lodges in equally remote locations). I gather from the lodge's replies to other reviews that they are in the process of updating the rooms, however ours had certainly not been updated. It would have been helpful to have some information provided in a booklet in our rooms (meal times etc) like all the other lodges we stayed in. On the plus side, the room had good air con, a safe and a nice terrace. The main lodge buildings were well designed with two pools and lots of sitting areas, however again they were very tired with mismatched lounger pillows that didn't fit properly, some with cigarette burns in them. There was an odd "fitness area" with exercise machines that clearly haven't worked in years. Everything just felt quite tired and listless. Dinner at the Eagle's Nest was fun and the food and service was excellent there. Food in the main lodge was good, but the service was listless and unfriendly at times. There was not a huge amount to see or do in the area past the walk to Vingerklip - if they manage to bring the lodge up to a higher standard it would potentially be worth a one night stay to break the journey to Etosha, but two nights are wasted here. Unfortunately this lodge has a lot of work to do to bring it up to the standard of other places we stayed on our trip, which charged a similar price.
