Mr Tho's Bungalows

Our double deluxe room was a good size, timber floors with large windows/ doors and curtains for privacy, opening onto the shared balcony each room with its own hammock to laze the day away or rest after a bike ride around the island. Lyn and Ting were very welcoming and easy to communicate with, good with banter and helping to arrange travel and scooters. We ate in the restaurant several times and the food is freshly prepared made to order. The restaurant consists of a lovely timber deck overlooking the river and a perfect place to sit with a drink/meal. Would definitely return and recommend it, we also liked that the buildings and gardens were looked after and clean and it was located away from the busier part of the island. The cheaper bungalow rooms looked good at a glance.

Do not stay here: the rooms are dirty, the beds have bed bugs and they refuse to help you with solving these problems. We booked with Mr. tho's through *********** two bungalows with riverview for three nights. When we arrived yesterday (February 2nd) at 1300, they had given our bungalows away to other guests and only had garden view rooms left. These were dirty and smelled disgusting. We took the rooms anyway and paid. Today, after coming home from dinner around 2200, we found one of the rooms infested with bugs and bed bugs all over the bed. We refused to let our children sleep in the room another night. We couldn't find anyone who spoke English; apparently, they put their children in charge at night. When they called the "boss," he told us he was in the hospital, but we heard karaoke in the background. Anyway, they refused to help us, refused to give our money back for the two remaining nights and refused call a new hotel for us. We had to arrange for a new hotel at 2300 on a Friday night with two children. Stay away!
