Heron House - Adult Only

Such a great stay. From entering the beautifully managed property, the pool area and the room itself. Steven got us checking early and showed us around. Amazing stay. Air conditioning worked perfectly and ceiling fans complimented it, keeping the space nice and cool. Walking distance to Duval street and close enough to key west express. We loved everything!

Comfortable bed, breakfast included, location to Duval Street. In need of minor repairs, furniture needs to be upgraded.

Heron House Key West was a cute B&B with great location to Duval St. Check-in was reason I did not give higher rating. Man at desk kept insisting only one room was paid & our friends still had balance due on theirs, even after I showed him receipt which showed both rooms were paid in full. Finally believed me, never apologized or even acted nice about it. There were two parties in line behind me waiting to check-in, one man went to porch outside to get my husband telling him the man at desk was giving me hard time! He then proceeded to take us to our rooms, didn’t even address the people in line that he’d be right back. Then he mixed our friends & our room keys up & we had to go back to desk to straighten that out, & of course he never apologized again. Man needs some customer service training! Everyone else at hotel was friendly.

Very convenient location to walk to attractions. Very clean and quaint. Very friendly employees and very nice breakfast options. Recommend! Will stay there again!

Location Location Location! Did I say great location? The room was quite small. The shower was too small to share. The bed was not super comfortable. The staff and owners were very friendly. Since we were in Key West to explore, having a small room was not a total kill joy. Would we stay again? Good question...Probably since the location was wonderful.

Really liked it! Staff was so very nice ! The atmosphere was what we were hoping for .. highly recommend it! Btw.. the breakfast offering was very good!

We checked in on Jan.22/24. After a long day of sightseeing I took a shower before bed. We were UNABLE TO TURN OFF the hot water tap. We called maintenance and no answer so we called the after hours emergency #. The fellow said he was 'not concerned' about the hot water bill and would have it checked at 8 the next morning ! We had to listen to it run ALL night( we we were less than 3 ft away). By morning the room was dripping wet because of the humidity. When we checked out, the GM offered us a refund because of our terrible night and not to worry, everything was taken care of! 3 weeks later and NO refund and many unanswered calls. Heron House was contacted by the on line booking agency and they advised us that Heron House would not approve the refund! We are still waiting to hear from the GM - ' t' regarding this issue. This is a family owned business and I can't believe these are the business ethics they'd want their staff to employ !

This is a tale of two experiences. The good: the staff at the Heron House were uniformly friendly and helpful. The hotel includes daily housekeeping, which is not always the case anymore. The grounds are gorgeous. The location couldn't be better for walking virtually anywhere in the Old Town or the Bight or to the southernmost point. Breakfast every morning included a good selection of options. The bad: the rooms. The first room were were given (#14) was completely unacceptable. It was, at best, early college dorm room. We never figured out how to lock the door leading to a private patio. There were other shortcomings. The next morning we requested a different room and were given #6. This room is where we stayed - it was reasonably attractive and close to looking like the photos featured in the Heron House's website. However, even this room: had a nonfunctional room safe, the vent in the bathroom did not work, the top drawer under the tv was off its hinges, the bottom of the room refrigerator was corroded and one slat in the blinds was missing. One of the women I met at breakfast said, "Isn't this paradise!" so clearly our experience was not everyone's experience. I can only address what we experienced, which is why I can't whole heartedly recommend the Heron House unless there's some way to insure that the room you are assigned is fully functional. And we made our reservations last October, so it could not have been a case of getting some kind of last minute lodgings.
