Wanted a good meal but the place was over run by children that were out of control and the parents were not bothered and shouting themselves. Not the best experience we have had in this hotel as we have stayed here many times before.

Spent two nights at the hotel having had a voucher as a present recently. Location is ideal , right in the centre of Keswick , with discounted access to the large public car park only a few minutes walk. ( £7 per night) The staff are lovely particularly Nash and Luke, who provided an excellent service. The restaurant evening food was very good, with plenty of variety on the menu. The breakfast service not so much, with the food lacking warmth and quality. ( not awful , just average ) Drinks prices were on par with the area, ( bottle of wine starting at £26) with plenty of variety behind the bar. The communal areas were clean and tidy, although lacking comfortable seating. The bar wasn’t really a place to stay for ages. Our room was tired with a smelt of damp as you entered. This was mentioned to the staff, but nothing was done to improve matters. The bathroom was large enough, but looked a little dated and in need of maintenance , with water leaking onto the floor after shower use. None of this was critical to our enjoyment of the weekend , but when the hotel is pitching at the price point it is , then your expectations go up. Overall, lovely staff ,great location, hotel needs some improvements with the rooms to improve value for money.

We were booked in here by our tour company and we were pleasantly surprised how great everything was! Our room was tucked away, at the top of the hotel, with unfortunately no lift access. The room was light and spacious, with a King size bed, a large bathroom with a walk in shower, and plenty of storage space for our clothes. Breakfast was good, although the tea was too weak for me so I had coffee, which was good. A decent choice of courses for dinner which we enjoyed every night in the restaurant. All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Keswick is a lovely base from which to explore the Lakes and is itself a very lovely town. Don't miss the huge market every Thursday!

10 of us had a great lunch today. Mixed menu from sandwiches, jacket potatoes and main dishes. All came out freshly cooked and well presented. Lovely service from the staff efficient and friendly. Can definitely recommend and would happily return.

Just back from 3 nights staying here and it was great in most aspects! Check in seems pretty strict at 3pm but we arrived in Keswick early and as per their email we registered our car for their discounted parking in the car park out the back. When we checked in we were given two room keys. The room was on the 1st floor but it was a bit of a maze to find the room. We went up stairs and down stairs to the room. Room was small although functional, had a bed 2 chairs and a desk. A TV was fitted to the wall facing the bed. The bathroom was also small. There was a shower over bath. Although the bath was not full size. The shower was American as the nozzle came straight off a pipe from the wall which meant you could not adjust the height of the shower. Made washing your hair a bit tricky. The breakfast was amazing, lovely continental selection and tea/ coffee available. You could order from a big range of hot menus too. The pancakes with bacon and syrup were very nice! We had lunch one day and although the fries portion was tiny it was also really tasty. Staff were friendly and seemed really hard working. Id stay again but maybe upgrade my room to a better one for a larger room.

Stayed in a cottage was clean some areas needed attention especially outside couldn’t sit in the seating area in the ‘garden’ due to rubbish and dirt and plants growing I totally the front door. food was ok warm not hot couldn’t resevere a seat in conservatory for Sunday lunch as we had a pet, this is only for hotel guests who have booked dinner?….. so if you are staying int he cottage not a guest?….. staff not the friendliest, the one guy in the bar tall dark hair very friendly and chatty (sorry can’t remember name) deserves a mention and some staff should follow him, over prices and under deleivered

Mostly good but some food negatives, we were part of a coach party of 34. A lady took unwell on the bus and on arrival at hotel her condition worsened and I understand the hotel staff were first class in their response to this emergency. Our room on 3rd floor was spacious, well decorated , very comfortable bed and plenty storage for clothes , the bathroom was also a good size with a shower over the bath. The staff in all areas were superb, pleasant, polite, and could not be faulted. The food imo was a bit hit and miss, meal on our arrival was ok, but not inspiring, next morning I had eggs Benedict , both eggs just warm and they tasted like they had been cooked in a pan of vinegar. Had steak pie on another occasion and simply not at all good, because were a Scottish group, there was haggis on the menu, those that had it said it was ok, but there were no neeps or tatties with it which is the traditional way. Couple of other things but not major. One other thing this hotel is cashless, all payments ore by card, which suits me, but I know some of our party would have preferred to pay for drinks by cash. Would I stay here again, yes but on B&B basis.

We enjoyed two nights at the hotel in August with friends and then my husband stayed on for two more nights with our son who travelled up from down south to go on the hills. Hotel was a great find. Staff very friendly and helpful, our room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. We didn’t have any meals at the hotel but had drinks, snacks and of course breakfast. They were all tasty. I would definitely return if I was back in Keswick.
