Corfu SunGate Hotel

My partner and I visited the Buffet here for lunch yesterday… the food was incredible.. place was absolutely spotless.. unlike many we visited - such a selection of local and international food - just wish we had discovered it much earlier during our stay in Sidari we would he been there a lot more often. We were both totally blown away with the reception we received… I’ve never witnessed such a high standard of customer service anywhere ever… I’ve worked in marketing most of my life … believe me when I say Nathalie is worth her weight in Gold! to this hotel ! When we return to Sidari we will most definitely be there again. Such a pity Sungate Hotel only accept booking from Tour operators.. and not from individuals would loved to have been able to stay there on our next trip in May 25

Pros: Breakfast, Catering Staff, Bar and Pool Area Cons: Room quality and privacy, Lunch/Dinner/ Cleaning Lady and Receptionist The Room: Very poor, the mini fridge kept making noises, the air con far away from the bed, next to the exit door. Very small bathroom shower and countertop basin. You couldn't leave the bathroom without flooding the floor for simply washing your teeth or taking a shower. No point having a TV if it's full of greek programming. The Staff: The Catering Staff at the Restaurant were very polite and professional, always keeping an eye for any issues and removing empty/finished plates from the table as soon as possible The Barman was also very professional, and made amazing cocktails. On the bad note... as far as the Cleaning Lady, we were still waking up when she knocked on the door and basically opened at the same time, without even giving us time to answer. Literally, she knocked, and then, half a second later she was key opening the door. We looked at her, perplexed and she didn't even apologised, just said she would come back later then. Absolutely terrible. And the receptionist who handled in a very aggressive and rude manner when she knocked and asked us what time we were leaving the room. Our bus was scheduled to pick us up around 17pm so around 11am she said if we wanted to stay longer, we would be charged for one full day, wich we actually accepted it. But after telling her she was handling the situation in a rude manner, she.probably took that personally and said that we couldn't stay because there was actually another booking for that day for that room, which I doubt it. Very unprofessional. The Food: As far as breakfast, very good. A lot of choice of drinks, fruits and bakery. But as far as lunch/dinner... no seasoning whatsoever. That rice was one of the worse I have ever tried. One day it was very soggy, the other day it was undercooked and the meat was rock hard. Best thing of lunch/dinner were the salads and the delicious dessert options. So overall, I don't think the all inclusive option is worth it, unless you're planning to enjoy a nice breakfast and spend a big time at the Bar. The Pool Area: Very clean. Every morning they had a person checking the water quality and the pool area was always clean. Lots of sunbeds available, a decent sized pool, so it wasn't overcrowded. That, along with the music coming from the bar, that was right next to the pool, made that area a very comfortable and cozy area.

Daniel and reception staff was very helpful all the restaurant staff and bar staff are very friendly and helpful the management has a great team of people that all gels together to make your stay a memory please look at this hotel and consider

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! money taken out of our SAFE!! Over 200 euros absolute joke of management!!! When approached to solve the issue we basically got told we was lying!! Absoulte joke of a hotel!! Only positive was the bar staff they was so polite and friendly.

Hotel was clean and rooms were very nice with a little seating area outside, 3 meals including a snack bar throughout the day plus ice cream and free drinks including alcohol at the bar, all workers were polite and easy to talk to, the hotel is in a very good area everything you need can be a short walk away with a ***** of bars you can walk to if you prefer a more lively area, pool was clean and that area was never too busy when we went, always were some sunbeds available, only thing I would say that’s negative (however it doesn’t matter much) is that there is only wifi in reception and the TV didn’t have many channels but this didn’t bother us. Sidari has places for every age group and lots to do, would recommended.

Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was a solo traveller and I stayed in this hotel on the 25th of June until the 27th of June when I arrived at the hotel I had to wait for someone else to check me in because the man didn’t speak good at English and when I did check in my room wasn’t ready when I turned up so I had to wait on the balcony also when I checked in I was given a towel voucher which you given to reception and you can get a free towel for the week the rooms are very modern however the bathroom is quite outdated and doesn’t match the room and some of the paint was falling off the wall the balcony door is very loud and does bang often when opening and closing The balcony is very nice with seating area. The telly is a nice telly. However is only got Greek channels. There is one channel called BBC world which is the news from around the world and they speak English. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and finishes at 22:00 lunch starts at 12:30 and finishes at 14:00and dinner starts at 19:00 and finishes at 21:00 the food is nice however is quite the same fof some nights and in the food hall there is a bar where you can pour your own soft drinks there is also a beer tap and the wine tap and there is also a coffee machine where you can get coffee or hot chocolate or tea there is a snack bar on throughout the day which serves chips and pizza and hotdogs and there is also ice cream bar where you scoop your ice cream the bar for drinks is open at 10:00 in the morning and close at 23:00 in the night also the drink menu for the all inclusive is there is a list of soft drinks a list of spirit which you can mix with the soft drinks and there is a list of four cocktails which include sex on the beach tequila sunrise, purple rain, andTNTorzo the Internet didn’t work for me however if you want good Internet I would suggest sitting near the front of the hotel so that you can connect to the hotel opposite because that’s where I got better internet I would 100% stay here again. I felt very safe as a solo traveller.
