Stay Kerikeri

This was hands down our best lodging in New Zealand and we traveled to Auckland, Mt Cook, Queenstown, etc. The room was spotless and equipped with a wonderful kitchen. The grocery store and excellent coffee shop is but five minutes down the road. The hosts are delightful, work hard, and have deep pride of place. The location is superb for traveling the north part of the island. We went to Waitangi, Cape Reinga, and Pukaki Forest. For the size of the town, the quality of restaurants and shipping is spectacular and it doesn't have that crawling with tourists feel of Pahai. Despite being near the main road, it was also blissfully peaceful at night. Spectacular.

We had a great 2 nights stay. Bill was the perfect host. Friendly and very informative, recommending drives around the bay and places to stop off and eat. Studio apartment was ideal. Never got to the pool but it would be very inviting on a hot sunny day. Would easily stay again.

Just returned home after having two nights at 'Stay' and loved it. The rooms and grounds are so well presented. Thankful to receive upgrade . Very spacious and well equipped apartment. Beds/pillows were excellent The owner was super welcoming showing us to the room and providing info re where to dine. Would gladly rebook when visiting Kerikeri

Highly recommend. Super friendly, helpful owners. Gorgeous, extremely comfortable, quiet place in a convenient location. Lots of lovely personal touches as well, for example, the complementary Max coffee from local company which was delicious.

We stayed as a family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) in a 2 bedroom unit. First, what we didn't like: I thought it would have been a little larger going by previous reviews. The lounge had a 2 seater couch and a big chair but one of us had to sit on a kitchen chair to watch tv which was not that comfortable. It was a bit of a squash for 4 of us. The mattress of the queen bed in our room had seen better days. It was quite thin as far as comfort goes. The fridge was tiny and if we put anything in the door storage, it fell out when we opened the fridge. The unit looked out to trees and bushes so there was privacy but there was a really bad smell coming from the garden. I understand they recycle the wastewater. What we liked: It was very quiet at night which was a plus and the unit was serviced every day with new towels etc. The bedrooms were spacious enough and the whole unit was clean. I wouldn't stay here again though as there were too many negatives and when we arrived the owner just seemed obviously eager to get our money as if they were afraid we were going to hop back in the car and leave again!

This was a lovely surprise - reasonably priced accomodation in a renovated motel. The unit was sparkling clean and the decor was fresh and welcoming. The room had all of the amenities you’d hope for and the kitchen was well equipped. Bedding was nice too and we had a couple of chairs on the small verandah. The location was quiet - backing on to bush and close to town. Each unit has its own car park.
