Having spent nearly 2 years on and off at this hotel,I can honestly say I’m still enjoying the experience,It’s abit like being part of one big family,Staff come and go ,but the meticulous service by all departments never alters,Greeted with a smile on registration at reception,smoothly signed in ,all questions about breakfast,restaurant and checking out times answered ,local history and attraction booklets available by the main lift area.they have a bar area which doubles up as an eatery, good selection of wines beers and spirits,excellent ,friendly Staff,food is also ordered from the bar,of which the menu is varied,the food well cooked and presented,but need’s reviewing,a little staid.Rooms are airy ,cleaned regularly decent nights sleep.all in all, A pleasant hotel to relax after a day’s work or journey.

The welcome was friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It looked like it had not been long refurbished. We've not had an English Breakfast for a very long time - the breakfast here was good, plenty of choices. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly. The parking tests your 3-point shunting skills a bit but it's good that it does have one.

Stayed for a couple of days whilst we visited local historical sites. Room was excellent as was the pool and general facilities. Was surprised the bar evening menu is the same as the main restaurant - seems little point in not availing oneself of the restaurant since it is much nicer and costs nothing more! Many thanks to the bar staff (who sang happy birthday) and Rieann and Ionda in the restaurant for their friendly service.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, however there was confusion with the offers stated in the upgrade. I was disappointed with the bar and grill manager who appeared to not be informed or aware of the offers included with an upgrade. The lighting in the club room needs improving as very dim. Not enough lamps to compensate for lack of ceiling lighting. Overall we had a good stay and this was our second time staying in this hotel. From my experience of staying in a standard room, and then upgrading to a club room, there was no actual difference in the room standard. Only benefits are the offers included when staying in a club room.

I booked a stay for one date then had to move the date due my one colleague being in the military and we eventually stayed for what we thought at the time was a pleasurable evening with this hotel on the 2nd September 2022. I felt I did call in plenty of time to move the first booking and just wanted to flag this up with them. They have now charged me for two stays and accused me of not moving the booking and not turning up. I earn a low salary due to my current job and there would be no way we would want to pay for two stays when we only wanted one night. They appear to not be concerned with my story and are refusing to refund the first booking As they have no proof it was moved on the phone by me. I did not receive an email confirming the move in dates and assumed all was well from the telephone conversation . Be aware this could and will happen to you if you need to change your room booking . They might charge you for two stays. I can barely afford this at present especially with rising prices in fuel costs. I will not be returning to this hotel group because they have ripped me off. What turned out as a smashing hotel stay has now turned into a really bad negative memory. It was not a corporate booking and every penny counts for me at this time and we are being treated as if the money means nothing , that we have been charged for two stays , for them appears normal. Even if it is wrong . Just to confirm we paid and stayed for the £205.12 Booking for one night , but were not at the hotel for the other fee they have charged which is £286 Again beware of these big hotel groups who are happy to take your money and if a mistake is made on their part, are very hard to get back a fee that they should not have taken .

Lovely grounds, excellent food and stunning customer service. Staying for work with 2 small dogs the staff couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy and well cared for. Everyone we dealt with was a dream and suoer friendly. One waiter even brought a plate of sausage for the dogs at breakfast. Rooms and decor a little dated, bathroom clean but showing signs of age. Bed very comfy and both evening meal and breakfast were delicious. Breakfast set-up is a little odd but not really an issue. Didnt use the spa or pool. Overall I'd happily come back but if you're fussy about aesthetics its probably not for you.

Really had high hopes at first glance this hotel has so much promise, being from Coventry originally I'm so glad this iconic building has been transformed and I will say it's been done well in parts however the reason for my star rating is the following. I'm on my second night of two and sadly had to move rooms. I had Room 27 first walk in was a huge Big Double you could easily use this as a family room it was that spacious, the downside and I would soon find out is this room is a connecting room and unfortunately I had very loud neighbours to which let's say I could hear everything. I'm also not the only person too mention this on their reviews. I had to complain about the noise during the night and again in the morning. Room 27 I sadly also found the bed far too soft and had around four hours sleep. Worth a mention that Room 27 over looks the courtyard and again I found that to be quite loud. I'm already feeling drained having travelled 1000's of miles to attend a family funeral. I'm now in Room 315 and what a let down. This is not a Big Double. It has the same lovely touches that go into detail of the hotels history however the room is so small. It's not a connection room and is a corner room which is one thing. I've tried to sleep and can't again the bed is not to a great standard honestly I find premier inn have better quality beds and if it wasn't booked I would of happily of gone there tonight. Upon check out I'm going to ask for a 50% refund and won't settle for less as having no sleep goes along way for anyone during any hotel stay. I would rate the breakfast as 3 / 5 i t was nice enough but nothing special. The staff are friendly enough but sadly with no sleep and some rooms not what you think your getting ie Room 315 is definitely not a Big Double I do feel sold out and I'm just disappointed and drained. Dreading my journey home tomorrow now with no sleep. I will add sense writing this as I booked through a third party and raised my complaints I was spoken too on the room phone by a Manager who had informed me my third party had spoken too them and wanted to know what my complaint was. Once I informed them of the noise and bed quality of both rooms ie the beds they snapped down the phone to me that this is a new hotel and the beds are new. They wouldn't be issuing a refund and basically my complaint was shot down. I have worked for over 25 years in the hotel trade even owning my own business of running successful hotels and bnbs. None of my staff would speak down to a customer in such a manner. They did end the call with see how I get on if I can sleep and speak to them in the morning however my mind is made up. This hotel is being run by monkeys who couldn't manage to peel a banana, let alone run what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 star over all at best with no pool, the poor quality of beds,lacking an average breakfast, is not that of any four star hotel I have been at or run successfully. My partner and I had been to Coventry the night before and stayed in a 4 star Ramada hotel which - surprisingly - is also owned by Wyndham. My partner had booked the room and mistakenly booked the Northbound hotel instead of the Southbound hotel. The person on the desk at the Southbound hotel was super helpful and could not have done enough for us. When we got to the Northbound hotel, the staff here were equally helpful. This was a last-minute booking so we didn't have to drive tired and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room!
