We stayed at this wonderful guest house for two nights recently and it certainly lives up to the previous Tripadvisor reviews and indeed, to our own expectations. Pauline and Bill are such good and friendly hosts. The room was clean and comfortable, there was adequate parking and the breakfast was excellent. It was everything a guest house should be. Thank you Pauline and Bill. As has been mentioned in other reviews we would strongly recommend the Station Inn for an excellent meal and it's within easy walking distance from the Glen.

Wonderful place to stay, Pauline and Bill are really friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make your stay welcoming. Breakfast is plentiful and probably the best I've had anywhere and sets you up for the day. As an aside, the Station Inn up the road is good for food in the evening.

We stayed at The Glen for two nights. Generally speaking the room was clean, tidy and functional. Pauline was very welcoming and pleasant. Our experience could have been improved by the following; We found ourselves staying in room four, which is very end at of the property and as such it appears the wifi doesn’t reach this far. Leaving us dependent on our phone data packages which made life challenging, given how appalling the mobile phone companies are in this country. The shower over the bath could have been made much safer to use by the addition of maybe one or two grab rails. At the moment there is nothing to hold on to should you slip or suffer from poor mobility. The TV is mounted on the wall to the right of the bed meaning watching this from the comfort of your bed is somewhat difficult not to mention the signal comes and goes but I doubt this is to do with position of the TV. The TV remote was also a challenge to operate through a little plastic bag. Considering we were on a break away from home, the one hour time slot for breakfast was not very relaxing. It was explained that we would not be kicked out of the breakfast room at 9:01 but we still felt that there was an expectation for us for to leave by then. We were also disturbed by the train and it’s close proximity, this of course could be a different experience for others if you are staying in a room further away from the line. The lack of high level sockets was frustrating, we had to reach under the side tables to plug in any devices.
Overall the room felt dated and could have done with a refresh, but of course that is our opinion and every one is different.

Perfect! A proper welcoming guest house - no frou frou boutique pretentions, so if you want a remote for the curtains and rose petals on the pillow that is not their style. Spotlessly clean and the welcome and attention to detail about a guests needs is second to none from Bill & Pauline. We felt totally relaxed here and as our stay involved a bit of family stress along with a larger dose of family pleasure we were delighted about that. It seemed to us that an invisible 'Jeeves' anticipated anything you needed during the stay. We never needed to ask for anything - it was always there. Breakfast is superb and the most relaxed I have had in a guest house or hotel. Again, it just appears without prompting. Brilliant stay and thank you!

What an excellent little guest house. We stayed here for two nights and we were delighted with it. It's everything all the other reviews have said. Pauline and Bill were such good, friendly hosts, the room was warm and comfortable, there was adequate parking and the breakfast was excellent; there was plenty of choice, but for me a compote of fresh fruit and yogurt and then smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is the perfect way to start my day. It was everything a guest house should be. Well done, Pauline and Bill.

We had a wonderful welcome from Pauline and Bill over the bank holiday weekend. Although the weather was iffy the welcome we received at The Glen Guest House was warm and sunny. Our room was great and the breakfast top notch. Our pooch even had her own good night treat in the room.
