Helpful, friendly, staff, trying to do all jobs at once and keep guests happy. There is obviously a shortage of staff and this leaves the small team overstretched, particularly at breakfast when things need refilling etc. On 2 mornings there were no hash browns or mushrooms available for any guests- not sure why -when there is a supermarket in the vicinity! Large, newly refurbished room which was clean, with a comfortable bed.Lots of hot water -great shower. No heating in room 2 on arrival - and we suspect this had been a long standing issue. We were given an oil filled radiator for the duration of our stay. Shame on management for not sorting this out. Hotel in great location for town shopping etc. Come on premiere inn management - sort this out - it could be a little goldmine.

THE NEGATIVR: The hotel isn't clean enough. I have stayed twice now. The first time there was chewing gum on the T.V (covering a light I assume) and this time there were bits of crisps or something under the bed and the sink was dirty. Parking can't be reserved. This is tricky because parking is very tight and if you can't park at the hotel it's self your in trouble (Kendal isn't great for parking). THE POSITIVE: Breakfast is good enough and the price is fair, probably cheaper than the surrounding venues. Location is good. Your at the bottom of the high street. Ideal for food, shopping, road and rail, pubs and eateries. Staff are good. Friendly without being annoying or intrusive. Exactly what I would expect in Cumbria.

Both types of WiFi - free and ultimate - simply didn't work in the room (and this issue has been reported by other reviewers). One part of the hotel - the bar - did have WiFi but that wasn't available at the times I needed. Hot water was tepid when we arrived mid afternoon. After speaking with a receptionist she offered to check out the hot water situation 'later'. We went out, returning 2 hours later to be told by the other receptionist that she'd gone home and left no message. I can only conclude that nothing happened. While parking is listed on the website as chargeable the rate for 2 days of £14 is simply extortionate. If I'd have known about the WiFi and parking I would have chosen another hotel.

stayed here before and as usual in any premier inn it was good and had everything you needed. The only bad thing was the new chair, when you sat down and tried to get up you were pushed forward and nearly fell out. Dangerous . I pointed it out to staff and she agreed and was going to do something about it. Staff were very friendly overall all bad part no WIFI at all so we were offered breakfast, that wasn't very good all cold and had been sat there for hours, so glad we didn't pay for it.

Room had mismatched furniture and some of the paperwork left had been drawn all over by a previous customer. Discovered after the first night that the window behind the secondary glazing wasn't actually closed properly hence me being disturbed by traffic noise. A/C kept turning itself off in the night. Service at dinner was very slow, first thing the host does is reel off a list of things they don't have in stock, witnessed many people having to remind the waitresses about drinks and food even when there were only at most six tables in the restaurant occupied. At breakfast, no staff available at all when I arrived both mornings at about 0645, makes you wonder why you pay for breakfast when it's just left out for anyone to help themselves to. The staff were very mixed, some helpful chatty and polite, others abrupt and quite rude, especially in the evening meal service I felt really like a number not a customer, the policy of listing off what isn't in stock as soon as you walk into the restaurant is really baffling to me. It was an acceptable stay for my needs, but I have had much better experiences with Premier Inn and I was left feeling that the cheaper Travelodges in Kendal would be a better option.

I’m currently at the hotel now and the staff couldn’t be more unhelpful and unpleasant! Room 227 Nobody on reception to discuss issues with. Nobody responding to the buzzer when called. Will not be returning despite needing to work in the area frequently id sooner travel further! What an awful place! The superior plus room is also far from superior! Dirty sheets. Tatty desk chair and 1 coffee pod! Amongst other things there is a general dirty feel to the room.

Arrived at hotel on 8/3/25. The woman in reception just sat there looking at us as if to say what do you want, I had to tell we had a room booked, after check in she gave us key card and told us room 7, didn’t tell us where room 7 is the other staff member had to tell us where the room is. Breakfast next morning that same staff member was on, we were waiting on the wait here to be seated sign, she come over and said “food there sit where you want “ and she walked off!!! Very rude of her. There was only bacon and beans under the light so my wife asked her if there any more food ready? She replied with “what do you want?” My said there is nothing there can you please fill it up, she not a very nice member of staff. As for the breakfast it was disgusting, all cold, the eggs come out of the kitchen and they looked freshly cooked, but they weren’t, they were like haribos, really rubbery. The room…..it wasn’t the cleanest, hair in the bath, the cups were not clean, the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, me and my wife both woke up with bad backs. We have stopped in many premier inns around the country and all have been brilliant, never had anything bad to say until now, this is the worst hotel we have been in. We will NOT be back
