Had a wonderful expreience at Chunda Shikar Oudi. The property was beautiful surrounded by a sanctuary of wildlife and the private jungle safaris were something we have never done before. We also spotted wild leopards during the safari in the private jungle. The suites were very spacious overlooking the forest and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and attended to our every need. They also planned a private lunch in the forest serving delicious food. Special thanks to the manager Mr Prithviraj and team and also Mr Om who was our guide and driver for the safaris. A must go to place for anyone looking for luxury in a private jungle in the midst of wildlife

A Truly Magical Anniversary Escape From the moment we arrived at Chunda Shikar Oudi, we knew we were somewhere special. Every detail was so thoughtfully planned, and over just two days, we made memories that will last a lifetime. The highlight? Exploring a private jungle and spotting a leopard at night an absolutely surreal experience. Kanu was always ready to take us on a safari, no matter the hour. And the sundowners… one by the lake and another on a boat pure magic. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel cherished. From a private movie screening with dinner to the most delicious meals by Chefs Mahendra and Kishore, everything was top-notch. A big thank you to Mr Prithvi and Mr Shankar’s team for their warmth and impeccable service. What we loved most was the peace and exclusivity,just 8 suites and a villa, surrounded by nature, away from the usual crowd. This place, its people, the lake, the jungle and yes, the leopards will always stay close to our hearts. .

I had bookmarked this luxury boutique resort for our 10th Anniversary celebration, and it was the most magical stay of our lifetime. Having stayed in many luxury hotels across the country and the world I can easily say that this was one of the most amazing and unforgettable experience. The resort is around an hour away from Udaipur. After passing the rugged roads when we entered the hotel it instantly transported us to a world of calm and serenity. It is nestled inside a private reserve and gives us a feeling of a Jungle lodge with an unmistakable sense of tranquillity. When we reached, we were welcomed with a refreshing home-made drink and a beautiful naturally dyed block printed scarf. At the welcome itself we could feel the warmth of the hospitality and saw the most genuine smiles on each of the staff’s faces. We knew that we had made the right choice coming here. The moment we stepped inside the lobby we saw the tastefully done indoors and beautifully manicured outdoors. The modern amenities blend seamlessly with classical touches, creating an atmosphere that's both fresh and timeless. The staff moves with quiet efficiency, anticipating needs without being intrusive. The attention to cleanliness and detail is evident everywhere you look. The owners – Mr. Veeram Singh and Mr. Yaduraj Singh are the humblest human beings I have ever met. They are both committed to protecting the environment and have done many things including planting of more than 300 trees in the resort for creating the right ecological balance. Their warmth and passion have been picked up by their whole team. The General Manager Mr. Hooda is charming. He has been at the resort since its inception and explains everything about it with lot of enthusiasm. The rooms were luxurious, bathrooms were massive with separate shower and vanity spaces and the beds and amenities were super comfortable. The whole place is evocative of a previous age but with great modern functionality. The resort offers an incredible safari experience. There is a full high tea spread that is offered in the middle of nowhere and one can experience the beautiful sunrise and sunset from here. We were also fortunate to witness a leopard in one of the drives. The thrill of these sightings made our adventures in the wild truly memorable. Prithvi the Front office Manager who doubled up as our naturalist was quite competent and a thorough wildlife enthusiast. He also took us to a very ancient temple inside the reserve which will be edged in our memory forever. On day two he took us for a boat ride and made us sight few very rare bird species. He was exceptionally attentive, ensuring all our experiences were informative and tailored to our interests. The culinary offerings at Chunda Shikar Oudi are nothing short of spectacular. Both the traditional and modern cuisine was done by the chefs exquisitely. Additionally they also have a very good bakery and pastry team. The staff at the restaurants were warm and extremely

Chunda Shikar Oudi is a resort built from a modernised hunting lodge and an hour from Udaipur. My wife and I spent a fortnight there in Late February and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday experience which will stay with us for ever. The owners, managers and staff share a commitment to protect and develop the natural habitat and to encourage native wildlife; a particular attraction is the families of leopards. . As well as an early evening jeep ride staff are available at any time to take guest for local walks with the distance reflecting guest preferences. This is what can be described as ‘market of one’ rather than group activities. (We are in late 70s early 80s). There is also an attractive lake with samosas and tea or alcohol on hand. The food was excellent – Indian or continental - again tailored to the individual’s taste. Do try the Shahi Rabda dessert. I cannot rate it too highly but one note of reservation should be added. This is not for everyone. It is an isolated location and don’t expect karaoke or games nights. However, if you are looking for the opportunity to relax and nature is of interest it cannot be bettered. Well done to all the staff.
