A three night stay, we could not have enjoyed our experience any better due to the kindness, and humor, of our host - Edgar Kirdorf. Extremely proactive in helping us navigate the local attractions, he even booked our itinerary and tickets for a round trip tour of the Rhine castles between St Goar and Rüdesheim (and return by train to Kaub). A quaint hotel in a quaint locale, we will always look back on our stay with fondness. Thank you Edgar!

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Deutsches Haus during our recent hike of the Rheinsteig/RheinBurgenWeg (or, as we call it, "The Rhine Roam". Our room was modest but clean...no air. But the owner, Edgar, was simply the best. His service was fantastic and we enjoyed his sense of humor. His brother (Willi) is the chef and a damned good one. We will never forget our dinners on their outdoor deck...wonderful meals coupled with a bottle of GB Sauvage Riesling (2012). Great memories! The breakfasts were wonderful and we were encouraged to pack anything extra for lunch....which we dutifuly did each day. While there might be more comfortable rooms elsewhere in town, the experience of the Deutsches Haus was one of the highlights of our trip. We'd do it again tomorrow. Thank you Edgar! John & Pam

Fabulous traditional food. It is always a good sign when a restaurant is packed with locals ( some were even turned away) We were staying the night so got a table. The schnitzel with mushrooms in cream sauce was divine. The breakfast the following day was also wonderful and we were invited to pack ourselves a lunch from the breakfast platter. Brilliant!

Wir waren auf unserer Wandertour auf dem Rheinsteig eine Nacht hier zu Gast und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Zimmer und der sehr freundliche Service bieten absolut alles, was Wanderer auf einer Mehrtagestour benötigen: vom noblen Schuhabstreifer vor dem Haus bis zum Schuhtrockner im Zimmer und zum reichhaltigen Frühstücksbuffet mit kostenloser Möglichkeit, sich selbst ein Vesper für den Tag zu richten, ist absolut alles da. Auch beim Abendessen auf der Terrasse haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt: leckere traditionelle Gerichte und gute Weine!

Herrlich! Auf unserer Rheinsteig-Wanderung hatten wir das "Hotel Deutsches Haus" als eine der Zwischenstationen gewählt. Selten einen so unkomplizierten Check-In erlebt 😀 Da wir am Restaurant-Ruhetag dort waren, gab's direkt gute (und für uns passende) Empfehlungen, wo wir hingehen könnten, wir haben uns direkt für das Nachbarlokal am Brunnen entschieden und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Zimmer waren funktional aber liebevoll eingerichtet (herrlich war das "Geh-Wohl"-Balsam für die Füße, was wir als Wanderer natürlich gerne genommen haben...). Beim morgendlichen Frühstück wurden wir gleich damit überrascht, dass wir uns ohne Aufpreis "Jausepakete" basteln durften. Das ist auch ein total großartiger Service. Der Gastvater ist offensichtlich sehr engagiert und konnte uns mit ganz vielen Tipps und Hinweisen unsere Wanderung erleichtern (die Hinweise zum "Turner-Weg" waren großartig - das hätten wir ohne ihn garantiert übersehen). =＞ Sehr gerne wieder!
