We vacationed with our family in February at the Roy Villa. The owner Roy is a wonderful person who helped us with everything: he drove us in his car on excursions that we chose and to his jewelry store, where there is a huge selection for every taste and color, and to the market for fruit and tea. speaks decent Russian. currency exchange please, the rate is very decent. I was always interested in what to cook, what we want, what kind of fish with what side dish, what kind of soup, tea please, fruit, juice. There is a massage room on site. the beach is just wonderful. We stayed for 10 nights and the food was never repeated. The food was delicious. We rested our soul and body. Great hotel. The rooms are comfortable. 20 meters to the sea. The view from the balcony is just like in the picture. Roy, the hotel owner, is another attraction. And he changed the currency (the exchange rate was the same as in the bank), and fulfilled any whims, took him to a jewelry store (helped with a discount). In 10 days it never happened again with food. I especially recommend the hotel to those who want to take a break from the bustle of the city. The beach is empty. There are no people.

A small hotel on the ocean with its own beach. I was surprised by the absence of other people on the beach; one could say that the entire bay belongs to one hotel; sometimes you can see several local guys. The ocean is gorgeous, just what you need for private time and a quiet family vacation. Before the race, I was wondering whether the railway along the ocean would interfere - in fact, it did not interfere at all, trains pass relatively rarely. I chose the land side building; in one minute you can move from the noisy ocean to a quiet hotel. Roy is incomparable - you will not find such a hotel anywhere else, where the director personally advises you on all issues and helps you solve everything you need - from preparing lunch to exchanging currency at a good rate and organizing excursions at reasonable prices. Upon arrival, he will honestly tell you and tell you what and how. For me personally, it was the best vacation for my money. During my vacation I also met a woman who took all inclusive and was expecting a 5* Egypt, so she was still surprised why there was no TV in the room, and they didn’t bring rum to the pool on the beach. If you need something similar, there are similar European hotels in neighboring areas, but the price will be about 2-3 times more expensive. Villa Roya is the best place on the entire west coast for your budget, in my opinion. On the road to Galle, if you turn left from the hotel, opposite the supermarket there is an inexpensive local cafe with fried rice, and if you go to the right, there is a fruit shop with a good owner and normal prices. Ban tours to this place. This was the first time I came across such a hotel. There are no advantages. There is no beach. You can get to the sea only through a narrow residential area...then cross a railway track with coarse gravel. And there you come up against a metal fence with a gate that you have to knock on to get it opened for you. And then you pass through the territory of the first building, which is not yet in operation. Next there is a gate and access to the coast... a narrow strip of sand and that’s it. Swimming is dangerous. In the evening after 18:00 it is better not to go anywhere because of the darkness and dubious personalities along the railway tracks... a remote place, but uncomfortable. I’m generally a fan of remote places, but here it’s uncomfortable, uncomfortable and the atmosphere is gloomy. The rooms have dim lighting and no hot water at all. The air conditioners don't do their job...The rooms are like a house of cards...the furniture and the whole furnishings are reminiscent of the 50s of the last century...The prices for food in the hotel are prohibitively high and the quality of the prepared dishes is low. The tuna is hard and cannot be chewed. The rice is tasteless...fresh, don’t understand what they mixed. Where is your Sri Lankan essence? Where is the spiciness and spiciness of the dishes? Where is the quality fish? You're on the ocean shore! I came here for excellent exotic food and aromatic fresh juices. The price for a dinner of overcooked tuna is 6400 rupees for two. For 5,000 rupees in Colombo we dined in a wonderful restaurant and the impressions of the food there and your food are heaven and earth! We spent the night only the night of arrival and the night before departure. The rest of the day we went on our own to travel around the island. And there was something to compare with later. When I went on vacation, I left all my expectations at home 😂. I bought a room in the building that stands on the ocean, because I wanted to wake up and see the ocean (later it turned out that I was not the only one who wanted such a vacation). Upon arrival, the owner met me and said that the building is old, there is no need to settle there, let’s stay here in ( The owner has 2 buildings, one is right in the villages, I would say, and the other is on the ocean) I say no, I want to wake up and see the ocean from the window. Then the owner says that he rented out rooms there to the Chinese for a long term lease of 2 years, and they are noisy there, let me move you here and dinner will be included (I only had breakfast included). I agreed, and when I saw that building I realized that it was not in vain that the building, as they wrote here, was tired, it was very, very tired, especially the furniture. Okay, let's move on. The BEACH may be just a stone's throw away from the ocean, but the road to it is not cleared and no one cleans the beach there (garbage is what the ocean throws out). The waves there are very strong. And now about the pleasant things, my vacation wasn’t ruined since I didn’t have grandiose expectations and a huge plus was that there were 13 of us cheerful Russian vacationers there 😂😂😂 and we just had fun and relaxed and our vacation wasn’t even spoiled much by the fact that there was no hot water on all floors, doors to the room (but not to the room 😂it’s hard to call it a room) with such specific cracks there is no sound insulation. I’ll probably come to Sri Lanka again, but I’ll definitely not stay at this place.

Отдыхала в отеле в одиночку, причем в это время находилась в отеле совершенно одна. Так как еще не сезон. Отель на два здания, первая линия непосредственно у океана и вторая линия, где расположилась я. Номер просторный, ТВ нет, но отличный wi-fi. В номере есть потолочный вентилятор и кондиционер. Санузел также в хорошем состоянии, вода горячая была постоянно. Холодильник общий, на первом этаже. Уборка в номере была, постель и полотенца меняли. Завтраки очень вкусные и сытные!!! От части завтрака я даже отказывалась, было много для меня. Обед и ужин по запросу. Заказывала! И сказать, что вкусно - это ничего не сказать! Можно заказывать мясное меню, можно морепродукты. Отдельное спасибо хозяину отеля - Рою. С тренсфера он встречает сам на остановке, довозит до отеля. Также и в обратную дорогу. Так как я была совершенно одна в отеле в это время, то он постоянно интересовался моим настроением и организовывал развлечения для меня. Советовал экскурсии как от сторонних компаний, так и самостоятельные. Все подробно объяснял. Давал рекомендации по безопасному отдыху. В первый день моего отдыха провел по пляжам, рассказал все нюансы. Помог с обменом денег (свозил на машине в банк), потом и непосредственно у него меняла. Свозил и показал продуктовый маркет. При отеле два бассейна, на первой и второй линиях. Я купалась только на первой линии. Там красиво и романтично. Также хочется сказать СПАСИБО охраннику (имя вот забыла(( Внимательный и услужливый человек. На пляже меня всегда ждал лежак, скрытый под листьями пальм от солнца. Угощал кокосами)) Пляж очень красивый, та его территория, что относится к отелю всегда вычищена с утра. Чисто и невероятно красиво! Место конечно уединенное и если вы ищете кипиш и развлекуху, то это не сюда. Здесь спокойствие и релакс. В деревне можно купить дешевую уличную еду, в продуктовых маркетах все необходимое. Фрукты на уличных лотках по приемлемым ценам. Я постоянно брала, если выходя от отеля на главную дорогу повернуть направо и немного пройти, там большой развал фрукты-овощи. Рядом с отелем ж/д станция и автобусная остановка. Вы можете самостоятельно поехать на экскурсии по другим локациям. Проезд очень дешевый. В целом рекомендую отель для спокойного уединенного отдыха и релакса, восстановления после рабочей городской суеты. И если захочется развлечься - пожалуйста в поезд/автобус и погнали!
