AI Summary
An AI-summarised snapshot of real guest reviews
Guests appreciate the high cleanliness, convenient location near beaches and public transport, and the multilingual, attentive staff. However, the breakfast lacks variety, and the water fountain's availability can be an issue for early risers.

The good points first 2 nice pools and a children’s pool and surrounding areas kept clean and tidy. Restaurant staff very helpful and kind. Cleaning of the rooms good during your stay. Now the negative. We went as a family of 4 adults and one child. We had two rooms beside one another on the ground floor. Our room was clean but dated, however, my sons room had a lot of damp in the bathroom and on arrival there was a dead rat outside beside the terrace😖. It was very late, therefore had to leave it there until the morning when they reported it to reception, who made a face, but did send in cleaners to remove it. As requested via email and noted on the booking, there was no cot available on arrival for our 2 year old grandson. We had to make the bed for him as safe as we could and make do until the following morning Now the all inclusive. This hotel does not cater for English. We have stayed in many hotels, but this must have been the worst all inclusive ever. The selection for all three main meals was awful, cheap and nasty. There was little to choose from, no basics like fried eggs and bacon in the morning ( 10 days and only available for two them) no fresh omelettes, pancakes or different varieties of fruit to add to your yoghurt. Salads were poor. There was a lot of pasta dishes and chips served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was no children’s section at all. The drinks available were of poor quality at mealtimes, no desserts and not even a bit of sauce to put on your ice cream. Alcohol drinks was beer or wine. Everything else you have to pay for. No snack bar available throughout the day, only a piece of the same cake everyday at teatime, no crisps or anything else. We ate out for most of the meals and spent a fortune on this Now for entertainment. The guy is non existent. He does not provide any activities in the day and the so called entertainment at night starts so late its just not worth the trouble. He is seen drinking most of the day in the bar and just shouts out. He is not friendly or inclusive to all. He does not even interact with the children. I really feel the hotel should invest in a proper entertainment team, as this would boost the atmosphere in the hotel itself. There is no play area for children, high chairs were dirty. The small area of Ride ons were broken, pool table broken and no table tennis. Just nothing to do. Even the bus to the beach, while good, who wants to come back at 3 o’clock, when this is the hottest part of the day. I would say please think twice before booking this hotel if you are an English family as this just does not cater for them. While only three stars and mid range price, you still expect the basics for a well earned holiday. You just won’t get that here

The overall stay was lovely really enjoyed the place being all inclusive, food has been really good caters for the majority doesn't really mix it up that much but still something there for most. The entertainment has been very very poor, never have I felt so uncomfortable to be English. The entertainer singled us 'English' out barely translated anything to English and insulted us on our last night because we decided to leave as the entertainment wasn't our cup of tea. Due to the 'entertainer' acting in this way we have scored this how we have. Up until the last night we had said we would like to come back but to be honest after tonight I'll be glad to get home and out of here. Other than that bar staff and reception staff amazing and friendly.

It's on flight path, no where to go at night, hardly any lights so a bit weary going out and about. To get anywhere you have to pay for a taxi or bus. Room basic, food ok but never hot. Only alcohol for all inclusive is beer wine ouzo and raki. Everything else you have to pay for..

Bit out of the way from shops and bars but lovely and clean hotel. The hotels entertainment was poor as didn't start till 10pm and that's when he could be bothered 😕 and during the day 11.30am he was suppose to do aqua aerobics/dancing and only did it twice the 10 days I was there. I was with 2 children so we just made our own entertainment. There is a bus stop down the road which takes you to hersonissos malia and other parts of the island and fares are very cheap and lots of bars and shops. Most sites say this hotel has 3 pools but only has 2 but 2 is sufficient. Also says kids club....NO KIDS CLUB. Food was very good with plenty to choose from but could do with more fruit as only had watermelon. All staff were very friendly. One more thing.....pack plenty of mozzie repellent because there are millions of the little critters. Room was cleaned everyday and sheets and towels changed every 2 days. Free air-conditioning and free safe deposit box.

We had a nice stay at Club Lyda but don't go expecting a 5* service. As the title says, you get what you pay for. The hotel itself is nice and didn't appear full. Its downside is its location, as it's a good 20min walk to the beach and further into Gouves. Nice sunset there though! Not much near to the hotel itself - feels a bit in the middle of nowhere. Pools - there are 2 pools and both kept very clean. The cleaners are there every morning, sweeping and mopping. People start to put towels on sunbeds from 7.30ish, but there's often some still free by 9. Some of the sunbeds and umbrellas have seen better days. The pool with the pool bar is much noisier, as that's where the polo nets are and each morning, the Italian entertainment guy puts on aqua aerobics with super loud music. The other pool is much more relaxed. But that way everyone can choose what they want. You can pay a deposit for pool towels but they look more like someone's leftover bath towels destined for the bin! They are clean but don't expect matching towels! Rooms - also very clean and a really good size! Our bathroom flooded after showers and at first, we thought that was how it was supposed to be. It was so slippery though, it was dangerous, so after a few days I went to reception to ask. The receptionist, Pati, seemed unconcerned and a bit standoffish. She mentioned something about tourists and bringing back salt from the beach. To her credit though, she got something arranged and the next day the drainage was fixed. Food - like many reviews before, you don't get a huge amount of choice as this is not a large 5* hotel. But what is served is nice. Always pasta for the kids. They do a Greek night and an Italian night. The nights where the head chef is cooking fresh on the grill are really nice - things like Souvlaki and Gyros. He's not very smiley though! Dessert is one option and fruit. Fruit is always melon and grapes. Nothing else. There is ice cream in tubs that you can help yourself to, but only at mealtimes, not throughout the day. All inclusive snacks are mini pastries mid-morning and cookies mid-afternoon. All inclusive drinks are white/red wine on tap and beer on tap - all drinkable. Watered down juice at breakfast time and fizzy drinks at other mealtimes. They switch the juice machine off after breakfast, so you literally cannot get anything other than fizzy drinks if you want a soft drink. When the restaurant is closed you can get the all inclusive drinks from the bar, and they will serve you a cup of water. Paid-for cocktails are really good! The downside of the restaurant is if you eat in the outside bit (albeit undercover), you get people smoking at all times. They don't care if you're still eating. It's really anti-social and not nice. The bar staff and restaurant staff we found to be hard working and really friendly. Entertainment - we didn't bother as it was the Italian Stalion every night - mostly karaoke. No kids club. Overall, we had a relaxing stay. If you

Fantastic value for money. Hotel has everything you need, it's clean and feels very safe. Food is nice although desserts not great. Had a wonderful massage by Savina, she is located by the pool under a gazebo. It was a full body stress reliever massage and it lasted 1 hour. It was the best massage I've ever had! Would highly recommend. Bus supplied by the hotel to take you to and from the beach. Hotel has 2 pools, not overly deep so great for kids. One pool has a swim up bar which is great. Loved our stay !!

I enjoyed my vacation at Lyda Club Hotel. The room was so clean. The sheets and towels were changed every day. The food which was buffet style was pretty good. I liked the snack bar where they had barbecue almost every evening. Sometimes they had pasta. Overall, it was good and convenient. The staff is nice and friendly. I recommend it.
