Marie Kelly Apartments

Almost tempted not to leave a review, place is becoming too popular . The standards of cleanliness and service are very high. The location is brilliant. However it’s the people that make this place extra so thanks again to , Dimitris , Olga, Alex , Daffi, George , Latta and Natalie

Just back from 10 nights in Villa Marie Kelly and I don't know where to start.....we had the most amazing time. My two daughters (13 & 9) also had a great time. So I guess I'll start with the apartments, they were clean and spacious, we had plenty of room as a family of 4. Plenty of facilities like oven/grill, toastie maker, pots & pans etc so you can make meals. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels/fresh bedding every second day. Plenty of storage also. The pool area is decent and the kids enjoyed spending their days around and in the pool, plenty of sunbeds and we were always able to get one. You are very local to lots of Taverna's so plenty of choice for eating out, we had lots of fantastic food and portion sizes are generous. The beach is beautiful and 5 minutes from the apartment. We spent many days down the beach and in the warm water which was also really nice. Central bar, which again is 2 minutes away, provides you with all the entertainment you need, they have great musicians that play on certain days, we also enjoyed a quiz night and Irish Bingo. Now to the BEST part of the holiday, the people we met. George & Alex at the bar were just awesome, so friendly and just amazing people. You were met with smiles everyday and they would chat away, taking the time to get to know about you and your family, you can see why they are both very well liked. They are just amazing guys and I can't thank them enough for becoming our friends. All the staff are very friendly too. I am not surprised we met so many people who keep coming back to Marie Kelly, its such a beautiful place to have stayed. Thanks to everyone (staff and guests) for making our holiday, we really have enjoyed ourselves (there are too many people to mention) but you guys know who you are. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back ❤️

Clean and updated hotel in a location that is near everything - beach, variety of restaurants, shops, groceries, cash points (everyone takes card here) and near-ish (12 min walk) coach to Heraklion that leaves every 20 minutes (2.40 one way with tickets sold on the bus - so easy!). Rooms are no frills and few have a view but our twin bed 1 bedroom apartment located at the rear of the complex was roomy and had 4 separate balconies! We read by the pool - open 8 to 8 - every day enjoying the relaxed vibe and handy pool bar and cafe - service was excellent! We paid 50 euros for AC when we checked in - it was remote controlled and easily cooled off the whole apartment once we realised all the doors and windows needed to be closed for it to work! Modern bathroom with good water pressure in the shower. Quiet at night and well lit all around the area so you feel fine walking around at night. My 23 year old daughter brought down the average age by 20 years (LOL!) but we came near the end of the season in mid October so it was perfect for us. Another great pick by Jet2 Holidays!

I had a very spacious 1 bedroom apartment, very clean and well equipped if you were like minded to cook I am not as I am on holiday 😃 Perfect view of the sea and close to all amenities, hosts were friendly and approachable with advice when needed. My favourite place to eat was Skorpios, all of the other restaurants were Mediocre in comparison. The pool area is well equipped and never short of sunbeds, breakfasts were well presented and enjoyable. A very short walk to the beach, someone said there were no ATM’s there is one on the beach road and one on the road to the left of the paradise restaurant. Continuing along that road is a travel shop the lady there is very helpful, I wanted to go on a couple of trips but am waiting 2 knee replacements and I don’t really swim so needed to bear these in mind. I chose to go on the full day trip to Spinalonga which also took in St Christopher olive factory and Agios Nikolas, the tour guides were excellent with lots of history and information. The day was a bit long for me getting back to apartment after 7:15pm but more resilient travellers would fare better. Today I went on a small Catamaran to Dia island where the Captain George cooked a lovely lunch and I watched as the other 12 passengers dived and swam and paddle boarded and snorkled as a small group we were very chatty so was a really pleasant trip; would definitely do this again. Well done to all at the Marie Kelly villa; it’s no wonder people return so often. I was made to feel welcome but not pressured to sit around the bar with all the regulars. Had a few lovely chats with Alex and enjoyed his quirky humour 5 past 6 man will definitely stick with me.

I had read all the great reviews of this hotel,and couldn't wait for the break. Villa Marie Kelly didn't disappoint. The rooms were of a good size, we had two - one overlooking the pool and one at the rear. The rear ones have a much larger balcony (we had two balconies). We were only self catering but ate often in the restaurant for lunch,which was fine. The pool area was never full,and there were additional loungers stacked up if it was ever busy. You need to be out of the pool at 8pm as you can see the owner adding chlorine of an evening. There's plenty of restaurants in the local area and the hotel staff are happy to call for a taxi of you want to venture further. As for the bar- Alex is great,very knowledgeable,happy to chat,introduces other guests to each other. We found only 1night that had entertainment (quiz which was well attended). All in all a great holiday,highly recommend, and would love to return

We checked in, were shown to our lovely 1 bedroomed apartment above the reception, then went to the pool bar where we met the lovely Natalie who served and entertained us and also answered any questions we had, as it was our first time in Crete. We really enjoyed our stay here, very friendly and clean. The room was much better than most we've had in Greece in the past. Cleaners came in every day also. Villa Marie Kelly is close to shops, tavernas, the beach and a short walk to the nearest bus stops which will take you into other resorts/areas. The pool was big enough for the size of the complex, a few people did leave their towels on beds at times but there were plenty to chose from. Big shout out to all the staff here, very friendly and welcoming. NATALIE, GEORGE AND ALEX you are amazing and a credit to your employers. See you again some time in the future 😁
