We were met by lovely Vasilli and later his mum Maria & made very welcome, Vasilli has THE magic touch with all tech ( good to know) staff there soon discovered we were english among a lot of fun filled french as they all seem Multi Lingual there was no problem. Ents team led by Douglas were amazing, made huge friends of his crew Enzo, Evan, Ambra, Hagar and Emma , who constantly showed thier love and appreciation of us joining in:-) Even the bar ladies who've worked there 2 decades ( that speaks volumes)were new friends , dining room crew with Danny at the helm were constantly clearing up quietly in the background. The hotel is the cleanest ive EVER seen. And lets not forget the Spa.. Oh the Spa. GO see Haroula and Irene, they are goregous humans who will get your skin ready for a nice even tan then rub your aches away - wonderful - they need a propre roof, or even justa tarpaulin - only stress was i might have been cancelled if it rained . Its so close to the beach too, great food. All in all 10/10 We had hug after hug after hug on leaving Day. Book it.

This hotel is amazing, from the food choices, staff, animation team, cocktails and all drinks, the pool, to the cleanliness and decor of the whole hotel, our room was superb. Nothing to complain about even the hotel being built next door didn’t bother us.

We stayed here for 7 days and it was absolutely fabulous! The hotel itself was amazing but the staff were on another level! Everybody was so friendly and always looking to help. The bar lady Elena was was so kind and polite. A highlight of our holiday was a couples spa package which we split over the Tuesday and Friday. The ladies Haroula and Irene were brilliant. The were very kind and put me at ease when in such an intimate setting. They are amazing at what they do and I'm glad we had the opportunity to have treatments with them twice! We will be visiting again for sure.

Nice clean and friendly hotel, lots of positives. Check in really quick although we arrived before our room was ready we were able to have lunch. Drinks plentiful and self service for local beers and wines which was great. Plenty of choice of cocktails at the bar although we didn't sample these many others seemed to enjoy. Rooms had what we needed and we're cleaned daily and had fridge and coffee making facilities which we found good. Location wise near nice small beach and nice small town with taverna and local shops. Easy to get bus to Heraklion which was less than 5 euros for two and worth a visit. Activities lots going on with entertainment team although we were happy to just chill and they leave you to it if that's your preference. Food wise plenty of choice however could of been a bit warmer, we always found something, plenty of different meat options and catered for most. I would say the hotel really caters for the French which the majority of guests were. Weather was lovely, some windy days but in 20's daily and hit 30 whilst we were here. All in all a relaxing week.

We were allocated a room in the older part of the hotel. It was clean, comfortable and fine for the two of us. You can pay more for one of the newer rooms but as we are hardly in the room anyway, it seemed pointless. The staff are friendly and the site is well maintained and kept very clean. The restaurant has cold buffet, hot buffet and a big choice of desserts. All the hot buffet dishes have a card explaining what they are in several languages. I have a gluten intolerance and the staff were happy to advise on what I could/couldn’t have and there was always ample choice. If allergens could be put next to the dishes it would help hotel guests and free up staff time, that being said, no one minded. The hotel guests weee predominantly French, and hitch was if no concern for us but do expect most of the entertainment to use French as the first language. There is a bus stop on the main road about ten minutes walk from the hotel. For about €2 one way per person, you can get to Hersonissjs or Heraklion in about 15 minutes. The beach is a 100m or so walk from the hotel. It has waterspouts on the beach and parasols and sunbeds for hire. The resort of Gouves is quite small but there are a few lovely bars along the beach from within a short walk. We went on the Jet2 excursion to Spinalonga. It was an early start but a full twelve hour excursion with a bbq on the beach. Well worth the money. All in all, it’s a lovely quiet hotel in a fairly quiet area.

We were involved in a unprovoked incident with a another guest with lead to my son (age 8) requiring urgent medical attention and multiple stiches on his face and will be scarred for the rest of this life. Whilst the hotel initially called for help for us then took no further action against the other family involved or helped/supported us in anyway - in fact we were ignored. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU EXPECT YOUR FAMILY TO BE SAFE AND LOOKED AFTER DURING YOUR STAY. The hotel refused to log the incident, refused to accept witness statements from various guests and their own staff, refused to speak to the other family in question, refused to remove the other family from the resort and they remained onsite despite the objection and tensions of other guests. In summary we were ignored, felt to feel unsafe for the reminder the holiday and the hotel did nothing to ensure my young son was ok and felt looked after. Other elements of the stay where not great - including bland repetitive food, large groups of teenagers taking ***** close to our balcony and sun beds gone by 7.30am. Entertainment team were excellent, full of energy and worked extremely hard through out the day. Top team.

We travelled with three adults and three kids and loved the relaxing week in Hotel Club Magda. The beautiful room (We stayed in the modern part of the hotel), the spacious and pretty pool areas, the good food and drinks, the friendly and service oriented staff and the fun animation team led to a wonderful stay. Most of the guests were French - We perceived them as very pleasant holiday partners. The super motivated and friendly animation team spoke French, English and one guy even German. We definitely recommend this hotel for an easy going, sportive and fun week off.

We arrived late and were checked in by a lovely receptionist. We went for a couple of drinks at the empty bar and the staff couldn't have been more friendly despite clearing up for the night. We had room 110, spacious with a rustic view. No problems whatsoever with the cleanliness of the room or daily replenishing of coffee or fresh towels. The food was good and fresh, the meat was of particularly good quality. Dirty plates were removed quickly and with a smile. Yes, there were many French guests and, yes, many did smoke but that didn't bother us in the slightest. The animation team made their announcements in both French and English and they were inclusive in participation of activities. Our biggest thanks go to Nastassa and Eleftheria in the bar who made us feel most welcome. The clientele of the hotel were in the older age group. Nothing much to do in Gouves except for watersports. For a relaxing weeks' holiday I can't recommend this hotel enough.

We stayed in the deluxe room and it was amazing. Room was really nice, the pool outside the room was amazing, sun beds were really comfy in the area by our room too. The entertainment team were great, primarily spoke French, but could speak really good English so we had a great laugh with them. The food was good, a good mix and what you’d expect from a 4 star all inclusive. The beach was a really short walk up the road - about a 1 minute walk. Beach was good, had a great atmosphere and the sea was amazing. The hotels sports area was also great fun, they had tennis, basketball, mini golf and the facilities were in a good condition. We went for a walk some nights, there were some restaurants which looked nice but we only ate at the hotel, some souvenir shops and some beach buggy/quad bike hire shops. Other than that, there wasn’t much around (we didn’t walk particularly far or look for things to do though). All hotel staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for some time away to relax.
