Astir Beach Hotel

I have mainly good things to stay about this hotel but I will start with the couple of negative points for transparency. 1. The rooms are very dated and the furniture was damaged which led to myself and my son begging splinters from the broken wood. This is not a major issue as we did not spend much time there so we did not raise anything. 2. The all inclusive package is not really worth the money both in availability and quality. The fruit juices were very poor and often ran out. There was even a day where there was no ice cream left and the one self service beer tap at dinner was empty and was not changed. In addition, there is a bar next to the pool that is closed during the day and when it opens at night is only a paid bar so you have to walk to the lobby bar to get a drink. This is not a major issue but during the day when you have been in the pool you cannot go inside to get a drink which leaves you stuck. Positives 1. The staff are absolutely wonderful and really made our trip. From the waiters/waitress’s to the Alexandria animation team, they were excellent throughout our stay and should be rewarded. 2. The location could not be better. The hotel is right next to the beach and short walk along the beachfront from the main road which has excellent restaurants and shops. 3. The food was amazing and although some items were repetitive, they tasted so good that we honestly didn’t mind eating some things more than once. There were a number of options that were new every night so it was great. 4. The pools and kids club. These were super important to us staying with a 3 year old and we weren’t disappointed. The pools were clean and never over crowded and the kids club was superb. The team there had activities for the kids and the equipment was clean and safe so our son was very entertained every day and had the best time. One slight issue was the sun beds which were often reserved before they even opened the pool area which meant if you were reasonable and waited for the pool to open at 8am, you wouldn’t get a space by the pool. Often it was older people who didn’t even come down until later or simply sat by the bar drinking so this was frustrating and I would like the hotel to police this better but appreciate it’s difficult. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would likely return to the hotel for a short stay and would recommend booking a stay here.

The animation team was absolutely amazing! Special thanks to Yulia – a wonderful and positive sports animator who brought so much energy to every activity. Timur was also very friendly and upbeat, making each moment fun and enjoyable. And Ilias – what a great chief! His comedy show was fantastic and made everyone laugh. Also, a big thank you to the bar staff: Jorgos, who was always kind and professional; Ritsi, a lovely and friendly bartender; and Sakis, who made every visit to the bar a pleasure. You all made our stay unforgettable!”**

Very good location,about 30 mn to heraklion,nice sandy beach.hotel staff are friendly and helpful.rooms nice and clean everyday,fantastic food breakfast lunch and dinner,good quality for all inclusive drinks.special thanks to the night barman your go's and alias from the animation team.funny comedy show by the hotel animation team.we will be back OUZO OUZO.

It was a short vacation with my 17-year-old twins. We just wanted to do nothing and that's how we spent the week :) The hotel was quite OK, the rooms were okay, although the cleaning (changing towels) could be better. We think the food is very good, but maybe we are not demanding. The drinks were a bit worse (local juices, spirits) - undrinkable for me. My teenagers enjoyed animations (volleyball, football, karaoke). A big plus is the proximity to the beach. Minus - fighting for sun loungers by the pool. Overall, the trip was a success, but I cannot say that the hotel is worth returning to.

The room was clean, the food was great, and the beach was near the hotel. I had a great stay. Be advised that the sea can be a bit capricious and the waves big if it’s too windy, but if you’re a swimmer, that’s not a problem. The beach has fine sand, but it’s narrow. However, even at the height of the season, there weren't too many people there.

I was in July, breakfast was the same every day, lunch was varied, dinner was fine but with a lot of roast pork. The child didn't really have a choice of food. I found the refrigerator without water, without juice, those who didn't it happens in Turkey and Egypt... So it's not 4* and they have nothing to do with All Incusiv. The staff at the cental bar are aggressive, especially the guys. Those with half board were not even offered water from the wine dispenser I couldn't tell you, something like this does not exist anywhere in Europe. 3* hotel with great indulgence. I do not recommend, I will never go there again. Compared to the resort two years ago... At Hotel Star Beach Village & Water Park , Hersonissos, where we had exceptional culinary experiences and many other entertainments in the resort.In addition to the hotel tax according to the star rating and the sunbeds by the sea with money 6 euros 2 sunbeds with an umbrella.
