Hotel Mums Home, a Classical Comfort

Thamel
Every time I come to Canada, I live in this hotel, which is more economical. It’s swaying to Durbar Square, very close to Tamil, and the breakfast is good and quiet.
Beautiful Kathmandu Hotel

This is a good and budget friendly choice if you are visiting Kathmandu for a few days. It's only a 5 minute walk to busy and noisy Thamel, and a little longer to the old city. The room I had was decent. There was no cleaning for the 4 nights I was there. Breakfast was honestly not great, but the staff was wonderful and welcoming. I would normally have rated it 3 stars, but at this price it's a 4. Will stay again.

Jiang Su Hotel

The owner is Chinese, very hospitable, and personally picked us up at the airport. The hotel is newly renovated, clean and tidy. The location is good, in the bustling area of the city center, more than 10 minutes walk to Durbar Square, 10 minutes walk to the Grand Palace, and convenient for dining and shopping around. The hotel itself has a Chinese restaurant, which tastes good.
Hotel Krishna Kathmandu

The staff were lovely, attentive and super helpful - I arrived at midnight and they dealt with technology issues with payment without a word of complaint and were incredibly lovely in the morning with breakfast as well. However I’m unsure if the room had been properly cleaned before I arrived as there was a half used water bottle still in the room and some mould on the shower curtain. However those issues were nothing compared with how lovely and helpful the staff were - and the breakfast in the morning was great as well.
Hotel Encounter Nepal & Spa

Excellent location, exceptional staff, great amenities, and an unbelievable price. The hotel is located just outside of the bustiling (and chaotic) Thamel and the more refined and white collar Lazimpat. Everything shopping/dining related is walking distance away and for local sight seeing the front desk will help book fixed and fair priced taxis. I highly recommend this hotel
