They gave us what we booked (superior apartment). The room was well maintained with good vibe but bathroom lacked few services (for instance, poor shower condition). Food was good enough for us. Overall service was above average. I would expect few improvements in my next visit.

Very good hotel as everything was nice. My friend and I would surely stay here again next time we visit Kathmandu. Great location, great service and friendly staff. Room is Very comfortable & Breakfast was fantastic . I Would definitely recommend this Hotel!

Hotel name deferent take time to find, below average 😕

It is definitely a small but complete hotel with treasures: 1. The location is excellent. It is located in the wealthy residential area in the Tamil tourist area. There are all kinds of restaurants, bars, shops within a five-minute walk... There are also vegetable markets (Figure 9), butcher shops (Figure 7), milk shops, barber shops, SAP shops, small supermarkets... 2. The hotel has complete facilities, and the kitchen facilities must be praised. There are all kinds of pots and pans. We stayed for a total of 10 days. We bought vegetables and cooked by ourselves, and we could also buy fresh ingredients and ask the kitchen to help process them. It was very fun. 3. The top floor is a restaurant. Breakfast is semi-self-service and needs to be ordered. The kitchen is open and the hygiene is good. 4. Water quality problem, this is a common situation in Kathmandu~ Because of the use of groundwater, the water quality is worrying. We brought our own water purification and sterilization filter pot (Figure 5 is a comparison of tap water before and after filtration). It is recommended that you can bring two universal faucet water purifiers, otherwise it will be more troublesome to wash your face and brush your teeth.

I traveled to Nepal alone and randomly saw this hotel on Ctrip. I booked it based on my intuition. It felt very quiet and comfortable. It turns out that women's intuition is super accurate. After landing in Nepal, I liked this hotel very much. Everything went smoothly. The boss and employees were super enthusiastic and sincere. They would do their best to help me solve the problem. I love it!! When I shared my cookies with them while having breakfast on the rooftop, I felt that this feeling was really good. Everyone didn't feel unfamiliar at all. I will recommend Himalaya Hotel to all my friends who are going to Nepal~

The room is nice and clean, very close to Tamil Street, convenient for travel. Originally, he was going to bring the children, but unfortunately the eldest son didn't do his homework well, so his father got angry and canceled his trip. It became my own travel, enjoying this big room alone. Sitting on the small balcony in the living room in the morning, watching pigeons and crows, and listening to the sound of chanting became my pleasant time in the morning. Breakfast is on the roof, the little chef is very kind, smiling every day, the boy in the white chef's clothes has been to the Great Wall of Beijing, and he hopes to go to China again. The brothers and sisters at the front desk on the first floor and the uncle are very nice and try their best to help me solve the problem. The owner, David, is a handsome young man who is working hard to learn Chinese. If you come to Nepal for the first time, you can find Xiaolong from the shop owner. He is a young man who can speak Chinese in Nepal. He arranges my itinerary in Nepal. He is a very good and responsible young man. I have played in Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara. I am very satisfied. . But it should be noted that Xiaolong is only used as a contact person for tourists in Nepal, and is only responsible for contact, ticket purchase and other matters. There are no restrictions on the behavior of other people in the itinerary. Semi-independent travelers need to have a certain ability to solve problems by themselves, which must be clarified. It cannot be compared with the domestic tourism system, but the basically agreed itinerary can definitely be completed. In Nepal for twelve days, I am very satisfied with the hotel and Xiaolong, thank you! I love Nepal and the Nepalese people, I will come back with my kids! Well priced hotel with courteous staff. Walking distance from all the great places to eat and see in thamel.

The location is just perfect and the staff very courteous…. The best part is we hired a cab through them which was very reasonable. I would stay here again if I were to visit in future & will recommend it to my friends & family as well.

Himalayan Ghar was a really lovely experience for me and my companions. Although we had a short stay, we had all our needs met, the breakfast was great and the staff were wonderful. The lovely receptionist also helped me pay an amount I owed to a local person with the help of a local app. The rooms were huge with an included kitchen and living room, it was an apartment hotel. The food in the restaurant was also really delicious. They also arrange tours internally and the driver was also very nice. Loved the stay, thank you :)

I paid for a week and after the second night the air conditioner stopped working. I spoke to the front desk early the next morning, but in the afternoon they said they did not know when it would be fixed. I asked for another room and they said "no, fully booked", although I could have booked one via *********** (who BTW won't even respond to my messages. So, I just booked a room on another hotel and though I'll eat the loss, I won't spoil our vacation. The owner/manager does not give a damn about guests, and there are many other hotels. STAY AWAY from THIS PLACE!!!!!!

I’ve stayed at Himalayan Ghar on two separate occasions now and both times it’s been great. It’s conveniently located in the heart of Thamel yet set back from the main street. The rooms are tastefully decorated with traditional touches and come with a range of amenities, including toiletries and a mini bar. Breakfast is also served on their lovely rooftop terrace. The service is friendly and the staff will be very happy to help arrange taxis, offer advice on day trips, etc. I’d highly recommend Himalayan Ghar as an affordable and convenient place to stay in Thamel.
