Grand Hotel Kathmandu

An average hotel but overpriced look location was ok….food was ok but room service was good their jhol momo was best

Wow, what a great place to enjoy with friends, Grand hotel is located in heart of City. ******, heritage place are closed by. Breakfast in restaurant was amazing, varieties of options while you are having breakfast. We got room on 5th floor from where we saw monkey temple & city view. We will definitely visit grand hotel next time when we travel their.

We were staying in grand hotel for 3 day . We enjoyed alot . We like the service and staff behaviour is excellent and everyone is very supportive and rooms are also good ... Thank you so much to the Grand hotel Team .. Next time when we came to kathmandu surely we stay at Grand Hotel Kathmandu..

A smooth transfer from the airport to the hotel was provided and we reached in about half an hour. True to its name the entrance was grand and we entered the beautiful lobby. A chandelier in the centre with a nice stone view with a fountain towards the end made the lobby more visually appealing. Comfortable couches were there to relax and the check-in was smooth. I had requested for a nice view and was given a corner room on the sixth floor which had a beautiful view of the mountain range. The room was clean with full carpet and had a big comfortable bed, a sofa, a table, TV, chair, table lamps etc. The washroom was well stocked with basic toiletries, a bathtub, washbasin with 24 hours running hot water. Red and white dominated the furnishing of the room. The breakfast had a good variety and the taste was nice. The menu was different on different days. Omelettes were made live. What I liked was that there was one heavy North Indian dish every day. One day there was poori- sabji, the other days there was idli Sambhar/ Chole Bhature apart from croissant, bread with butter/jam, sausages, veg cutlets/ croquettes, milk with cornflakes etc. The restaurant where the breakfast was served had a nice garden view. From the in-room dining, we tried Chicken Biryani which was ok in taste, served with onions and raita. The hotel also had Free Wifi which had a good connectivity. There a cute pool as well next to the garden on the ground floor and a small temple as well. There was a shop in the hotel premises which sold pearls and pashmina. I bought a pendant from there.

The hotel is located 7 km from Tribhuvan International airport, so you'll get there sooner rather than later. The first thing I noticed at Grand Hotel Kathmandu was the friendliness of its employees, from the driver who greeted us at the airport and the bellboy to the Reception staff and the General Manager. The staff seemed to know us for years, not minutes, and every time I met the hotels' employees during the stay they were all smiles, ready to help. Another thing worth mentioning: the packages awaiting guests. Passionate travelers can opt for 5 packages with experiences lasting between three and eight days with adventures in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Nagarkot. Before dinner in Maharaja restaurant, located on the hotel's top floor, a drink in the adjacent Aromates Bar & Lounge is recommended. To sum up, a hotel I would return to during my future trips to Kathmandu.
