Room was clean. Rooms in the new wing are brighter and more modern but you can hear the music from the disco pub next door. They run till very late in the weekends. If you are a light sleeper this might be a problem. Amenities in room is lesser than on the old wing. Old wing rooms faces the main road. Comes with a balcony but don’t think anyone will sit there due to the dust and haze. Last thing, Housekeeping didn’t really come clean on my missing items. But thanks to reception staff for checking. So make sure you double triple check the room before leaving. Overall it was a good stay.

Very good location and design and very clean room!

This hotel is really a happy turning point for me traveling alone in Kathmandu. The location is great, the service is great, the hotel design is very exquisite and full of local beauty, everything is not overly luxurious but perfect in details, not exaggerated but very particular, comfortable and clean, it really deserves a higher score, sincerely share it with everyone who travels here

We had our best stay at this hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and they had a wide selection of food. Comfortable bed and the total ambience is beyond my words. The architecture in every corner of this hotel is to talk about. Everyone was very kind and helpful towards us.

A great little hotel in the heart of the Thamel district of Kathmandu with numerous shops, restaurants, ATM, Forex all steps away. The staff at Nepali Ghar are very service oriented and did everything to make our stay a comfortable one. Restaurant on site is very good with both Nepalese and conventional dining choices. Rooms and facilities all clean and modern. Really good value for our stay in Kathmandu.

The hotel had an old world charm. Great introduction to Nepali hospitality and culture. Its in the vicinity of some clubs so expect music until late in the evening. It was also centrally located in the Thamel district, a couple of blocks away from Kathmandu Durbar Square

My experience with this hotel was perfect, beginning to end. I am so grateful to have stayed here. The rooms were gorgeous: well-designed, comfortable, spacious. I stayed there before and after my Everest Base Camp trek, so I had the opportunity to stay in both wings of the hotel. Both lovely. The food is fresh and delicious. I ate at the restaurant and ordered room service multiple times and everything was always perfect (and well-priced). The bartender was also really talented and made some incredible one of a kind beverages for our group. It’s centrally located, and a thoughtfully restored historic building. Would be nice for a conference - had a nice meeting room and several smaller spaces. I hope to go back someday.

There are some flaws. The rooms are small. When changing rooms, cleaning staff lifted my suitcase and complained it was heavy: "Please carry yourself". Breakfast was ok, but charged extra for "special" coffee like "latte".

1000 stars would not be enough for this hotel and restaurant along with the staff the are very helpful in any they can be the rooms are very nice and clean with all the modern conveniences. Location is walking distance to shopping and night life but still a nice quiet place to relax the staff always goes above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel.

One of the finest NICHE hotel with complete local decor, tradition and character. Very well maintained to the extend of world class experience. Rooms decors, tapestries, bed linens, toiletries, towels, beds are awesome and very well placed. Breakfast is immensely and intelligently offered, catering to foreign clients. Restaurant is worth visiting.

I have booked this hotel on 6 separate occasions, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. Quiet, clean, comfortable and great staff. Lovely interiors and bedrooms, and in just the right location to be in Thamel but not IN Thamel !!!! Wonderful chicken biryani from restaurant. An oasis in Kathmandu
