Location: The camp's location offers convenient access to Yala National Park, especially Block 5, known for its quieter environment. The proximity to the Katagamuwa entrance is a notable advantage, allowing early access to safari areas with fewer vehicles.

Leopard Safaris is a true gem, located ideally to access the less crowded "blocks" of Yala, the standard of service, food, guiding and accommodation is incredibly high. I loved the sustainable design of the camp, recycling wine bottles and termite clay to construct the guests bathroom and the lounge area just gave this place such a natural and quirky feel. The whole camp is beautifully designed with an eco friendly pool, lounge and dining area. The tents are huge and luxurious with King sized beds, outdoor bathrooms and a deck to watch/listen to the wildlife from and wildlife does enter the camp from time to time! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, staff are extremely attentive and we were looked after like royalty by Camilla and her team. Guests can dine together with the manager or the sometimes the owner, Noel, who is a famous safari guide, (or privately) by candlelight in different areas of the camp. The food is exquisite, traditional Sri Lankan, and locally sourced and the stars were something else! This camp has a true commitment to both sustainability and responsible wildlife viewing which is definitely not the case for all camps in the Yala region. Their vehicles are specially adapted and their guides extremely knowledgeable and personable. I cannot wait to return here!

We had an incredible experience with Leopard Safari. We did a two-day (two half-day) safari in Yala National Park and were blown away by how well everything was run. The staff were outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the experience special. A huge thank-you to Sam and our driver, Dulip, who were both exceptional. Their knowledge, patience, and enthusiasm made a huge difference, and they were the reason the trip felt so memorable. We saw an amazing range of wildlife, including a long, close-up encounter with a leopard which was am amazing experience. The food was impressive, and the accommodation was actually reasonably luxurious as well. We really enjoyed our time here, and the staff were the main reason it stood out. Highly recommended.

Thank you for a truly wonderful stay. We absolutely loved our two nights and would not recommend anything less. We were initially a bit apprehensive about visiting Yala as last year we were fortunate to safari in Africa. We were so glad that we did! The family tent was beautifully spacious and comfortable. Even though it was very hot this time of the year, the AC worked really well to ensure a very peaceful sleep. The food was incredible, and we loved the different locations. Our naturalist guide was exceptional and really passionate about conservation and sustainability. I'm so pleased to see no plastic water bottles! We did a morning and afternoon safari during our stay and would recommend only 1 per day so you can relax and enjoy the lodge. We saw many animals, including 2 leopards. We enjoyed visiting the quieter block 5 as well as we had read about the crowds. Thank you so much. This stay was a true highlight.

We loved our time at Yala. The staff were so attentive and caring. They were very focused on our teenage children and making sure they had the best time. The food was delicious and they provided great western options for the kids. Our tent/cabin was very spacious and slept five of us very easily and comfortable beds. The naturalists and drivers were amazing. We were lucky enough to see a multitude of animals including leopard and sloth bear. We loved our stay here.

An amazing experience. Convenient location: particularly for Block 5, which is quieter. It’s also very rural: one morning we surprised a pair of Golden Jackals about 100 meters from our breakfast! At night, the stars are a revelation (if it’s not too cloudy). Beautiful camp: Every detail executed perfectly. It’s all natural with several ponds, active bird life and occasional visits by monkeys. Dreamy room: large, airy, very comfortable bed. The bed-side charging points and the great lighting were a plus. Legendary candlelit dinners. Delicious food, with a wide variety on offer and changing every day. The chef went out of his way to accommodate our daily request for scrumptious Yala curd. Expert guiding: Don, Dulip, and Presanthe were excellent spotters (how did they see the sloth bears in that heavy brush?): we saw elephant, leopards, buffalo, mongooses, crocodiles, loads of birds, and interesting insects. . A professional, well-run operation: without rigid attention to timings. The team was open to suggestions, ideas, requests. Everyone in camp was warm, friendly, helpful. We will miss you all and remember our time at Leopard Safaris with affection and longing to be there.

The level of service and facilities at this camp was second to none. The cuisine was divine, the accommodation first class and the private dining in unique locations around the property was amazing. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The safari vehicles were in great condition and comfortable. We had the opportunity to see 2 leopards, a tusker elephant and lots of other wildlife common in Yala National Park. No sloth bear seen, but I will be back again for another stay in the future to hopefully see this elusive creature...

We had a fabulous time here. The rooms are well equipped & great having air con and fans. We spent some time around the pool and every night the team set up dinner in a different locations and the food…..wow!!!! This is some of the best of Sri Lankan food we experienced. Cannot fault their effort and the experience. The safari drives were fun and despite not seeing a leopard we did see lots of bird life and some elephants. The team were amazing (thanks to Don, our Naturalist).
