Very quite and calm..good for honeymoon..all foods is good

We stayed here 11 days. The hotel area was very clean and comfortable. We had a family room with garden view. Room was spacious. It was nice to have coffee, tea, electric kettle and a fridge in a room. In restaurant the service was very good. The quallity of food was excellent. Pool area was nice. Receptionists were also very helpfull and friendly. The staff made this place perfect for relaxing holiday.

We had a great time at Marafiki Bungalows, we spent 4 nights. The staff was very friendly, they knew our names, very personal approach. The food was delicious although the portions were rather large (for us). The pool is amazing, clean, large, with a beautiful view over the sea. There is a nice coffee machine and also a water kettle in the room to make your own tea and coffee. Wifi was working well. The only down side was that the aircondition in our room was not functioning well. We reported this and someone had a look, it improved but was still not giving the cooling comfort during the night we had hoped for. A ceiling fan as alternative cooling option would be great. Be aware: there is no sandy beach right in front of the hotel, but that was no issue for us. We loved to wander around when it was low tide. It is fascinating to see the tide coming in and out. The hotel organizes a shuttle to a sandy beach. Nice gesture. You can only swim in the sea right from the hotel when it is high tide. I can highly recommend staying at Marafiki Bungalows.

We were at Marafiki Bungalows on 18 - 20th Dec, checking out on 21st. I paid for accommodation in advance, and since the quote was in dollars and I was paying in TZS, I paid extra to ensure there was no shortfall due exchange rate fluctuations. On checking out I had to argue and defend this decision as the extra payment was not taken into account and the manager insisted for me to pay our bill in fulk without deducting the extra cash paid, arguing that I had not paid local taxes. Given that we were rushing to the ferry, I paid. On the way out, I recalculated and confirmed that I was overcharged. I immediately communicated that, and by the end of the day, it was concluded that I was overcharged and would be refunded. A week later, I received communication that I was not overcharged. After a new back and forth, I suggested they add up expenses and payments using Excel. For the send time, they admitted overcharging and promised a refund. As I write this, I still don't have my refund. The feedback I keep receiving is that we will remind the owner to pay you. I believe if I had underpaid, they would have hounded me for it. This a sad ending to a wonderful stay. The place is beautiful with great views. The best things about the place are the staff in the restaurant and the food is top notch.

Just fantastic. We lived in bungalows on the beach. A restaurant on the opposite 10 meters. Lovely food. Lovely people serving us. A topnotch place. Just recommended for everybody. With or without children. Massage with a view over the ocean.

Everyone was 10/10. + Cleaning everyday, the floor and beds is taken care of very well. + Beuatiful place. + Private place, no one who can disturb you from the beach since the hotel is on a cliff. + Free drinking water. And free tea + coffee in the rooms. + Very good breakfast and all the meal at the lunch/dinner menu is tasteful as well. + Fan + air-conditioning in the rooms. - No actual beach you can swim from since it's on a cliff. - There's some wood creeper in the bungalows that you can hear when they eat the wood + you can see the dust which falls from the roof. I was here with my husband, daughter 1.10 year old and my mom.
