We absolutely loved our one-night stay there, dinner was delicious, our little cottage was adorable and the staff so friendly! There’s something very special about staying on a small island, where everything has been lovingly restored. You set foot on it and are immediately engulfed in its past. I personally had lots of fun observing the sea and all the little Patricks (think Sponge Bob ) leading their lives. For me a wonderful memory: a very endearing place and staff.

Staying at this hotel is an experience. It is an old fishing village which has now become a hotel. You get there by boat. Rooms are quite small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner the evening before - very average with absolutely no choice. And the restaurant has no atmosphere whatsoever tho the view is good. Staff very friendly. It basically is a hotel for large conferences so as a guest who is not part of a conference you feel like a spare part. Not alot to do on the island - takes about 15 mins to walk round it - apart from admire the views!

Wondered whether to give 5 or 4 stars - as it is a very special place. The island and views are beautiful - the room was very well done. It is noisy with neighbours as they are old buildings but people took care to speak softly and did not impact our stay. Dinner was nice but bit pricy even by Norway standards - using that you have to be on the island. Again we enjoyed it and was great food, but we were also out the door again in around an hour of quick serving of food. And that is on an island with nothing else there 😀 The ferry left 5 minutes early to schedule on our way there and 10 minutes early to schedule ont eh way back. Had to run to catch that back and were lucky both ways. For a schedule of once an hour and the only way to get to your hotel I do t think that is acceptable. So would highly recommend and stay there again ourselves - but not giving 5 as too many small things not perfect and things like a missed ferry cause it left early could have had a major impact on the day.

Traveling around by own car in North-West part of South of Norway, we had booked through the Company Berg Reiser, a night at the Haholmen Havstuer. The Hotel at the Island could only be reached by a boat that picked us up at the enormous Atlanterhavsveien at Averøya. This great small Island owned by Ragnar Thorseth and family well known also because of his ship Saga Siglar. Very cozy hotel and very nice to look straight out at the Atlantic Ocean.

We loved our stay at Håholmen Havstuer. The island is idyllic with wonderful views onto other islands and the ocean and it's utterly peaceful. You can walk around the island in about 15 mintutes and the cottages are full of character with simple but comfortable accomodations, though the single beds are very narrow. The food was excellent, though dinner was pretty pricey--but one has to keep in mind that everything has to be brought in by boat from the mainland.... The Atlantic Ocean Road is well worth seeing and the Kvernes Stave Church and folk museum aren't far away. Altogether, an excellent place for a getaway!

Car in the parking lot on Atlantic Road. Across the water to the other side with a wooden Viking ship. The most idyllic setting you can imagine. Even though the rooms are full, you feel like you are alone in the world. The restaurant only had little choice and spicy and the price. There is a small museum.

Incredibly beautiful location near the Atlanterhavsveien. Here you can relax. Very friendly staff. Rooms in separate chalets are very copy, but with a sufficiently spacious bathroom. Breakfast buffet and dinner were delicious. Unique experience.

Beautiful isolated place, but that's what makes it so charming. Arrival by boat essential, but easy and well organized. Very warm welcome, even for Norway which is sometimes austere. The fishing village transformed into a hotel has retained all its charm. Simple but nice and comfortable rooms, ours had a terrace overlooking the sea and a small separate lounge, I can only recommend it. Sound insulation could nevertheless be improved. The obligatory restaurant (because nothing around) is also pleasant high price of course like everywhere but very good with excellent service again. Place to recommend for a Zen break, or active for sea sports enthusiasts.
