Hotels near Yamano Shrine in Karuizawa

My cottage 830 is very inconvenient. On 8 and 9 Nov 2023, it is completely dark after 17:00 pm. On arrival at Karuizawa Station, I need to go to the Prince Shopping Plaza and take the free shuttle bus to the hotel front office. After checking in, I need to get a ticket and wait for the shuttle to take me to my room. There is free cottage shuttle every 15 minutes to take guests to the hotel front office. In that building, there are restaurants and a convenient shop.

The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Karuizawa station. Take the north exit on the bridge/walkway after coming up from Shinkansen platform, it's the left. There's a tourist info with helpful people at the end of the corridor, and an escalator next to it. Once you come out, with your back to the station, walk straight down the road, and take left at the first traffic light, near the Shell station. The hotel is opposite Family Mart. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was generous-sized with an ante-room which has a fridge, some storage cupboards and the main room is nice and big with a good-sized bed. They provide 2 bottles of water. You can take day trips to Naka Karuizawa, Shiraiito Falls among other destinations using the bus service outside the station. It's a lot easier if you have Suica card or you will need to carry many 1000 yen notes. On the way back you can you can stop off at Kyu Karuizawa and walk the streets of Old Ginza. It can also be reached by foot, takes about 25-30 minutes.

One of the hotels I don't want to teach a few of them. I renovated the place where it was the original 々 store and was in the hotel, but I had a good sense and stayed in New York well, but I feel like I remind you of that time. The size is sufficient and the amenities are substantial. The Japanese room I stayed in also has floor heating, so comfortable and so reasonable hotel is the first time. Usually stay in a foreign hotel chain, but it doesn't pull at all. The staff is also very friendly and polite. I would like to come again.

It is easy to understand because it is close to Karuizawa Station and is located on the main street. However, it is difficult to understand the entrance of the hotel, but I wondered if I should enter from the restaurant. Only standard double rooms are available for dogs. It's pretty narrow. It feels like a stylish business hotel. The bed is comfortable. There is a large dog gauge toilet sheet and a butt wipe. The bathroom and toilet are in the same room, but they are large. I was interested in the toilet. Should I remove the toilet seat when cleaning? The amenities were in a cute cloth bag for two people, but there was no toothbrush in one cloth bag. There are 2 bottles of mineral water in the wine cellar. It's a pity that there is no pot. It would be nice to have a water server that can produce hot water without a pot. There are 2 coin laundry machines. Ice maker, juice and alcohol are sold by themselves. The restaurant is delicious, but the amount of dinner and morning is large, and the contents are covered, so it seems that you will get tired of staying for consecutive nights or using it frequently ... The taste is strong (good compatibility with alcohol) Even for people with small children I was there, but maybe my kids aren't likely to eat it. Dessert also has an adult taste. The restaurant is very cold near the entrance and on the window side and requires a coat. All the staff are kind. It is cheap considering the food and convenience for the price. Especially recommended for those who want to enjoy the whole of Karuizawa and enjoy Spanish cuisine. I want to use it again.

It was a one-night meal with an official reservation and the child was good with one coin. It is far from the outlet and the old Karuizawa and runs on the mountain road. It is in the back of the mountain and is quiet and nice. There are only guests at night. It is colder than the flat ground, so the jacket is good even in October. I applied for a red leaf cart tour at check-in. I will ride the golf course around the cart. It was very fun with quiz and photo spot stops. The indoor pool was only 2 families when I went after dinner. There is also a jacuzzi. I was happy to see the child's happy face as a parent because I couldn't take it to the pool in the summer at the corona pass. There is no place to eat or convenience store nearby. There is a store but no meals are sold. The hotel meal is very delicious in the morning and night buffet. Children who usually don't eat soba were refreshing with delicious and delicious. The adults were very satisfied with roast beef, sashimi, horse stab and tempura. There was Wi-Fi everywhere in the building. Radio waves are no problem. There is also an open-air bath, and the scenery is beautiful from inside. The congestion expected paper was pasted on the elevator, so I was able to avoid congestion and enter. I entered at night and in the morning. The children seemed to be enjoying the quiz rally in the building, origami and children's rooms. There were several middle-aged men who were fussing in the courtyard at 0 o'clock in the middle of the night, and it was noisy, so I contacted the front desk and responded immediately. Thank you.

I really enjoyed my stay at this brand new hotel. Although it has been open for a couple of months, they have kept everything spotless. The lobby with open fire is beautiful and a comfortable area to have a drink and relax. The room itself was also incredibly clean and everything worked well including the WiFi. The hanten jackets were in the colours of the Ukranian flag which was a nice touch. The breakfast was good, as was the restaurant in the evening. The public bath was a nice place to soak after dinner. Service was good although it's clear the team was new and still training - I am sure this will change in time. Small criticim is there was no room service menu in the room. This was fine as it was on the TV but navigating to the menu needed Japanese skills. The architecture and general design is fantastic, as are the fittings and the carpets are just beautiful - same as all new IHG properties I think.

It's closer from the JR station and through the shopping mall. You also need to walk a certain distance while dragging the suitcase. It may be a bit confusing for the first time, but once you get familiar with the road, it will be fine. It is very convenient to take a bus to Kyukaruizawa or Nakakaruizawa from next to the JR station, making it a very suitable accommodation for a short vacation. And the room is the largest room I have stayed in in Japan this time except for hot spring hotels! There is a porch! The bed is big enough for two people and has a lot of space for activities. The toilet is not too narrow to turn around, because the price is very affordable on weekdays, less than 350. The beds are new and clean. Only near the toilet can I hear some noise from next door, but there is no sound. Because it is a single-family house, the windows are very bright. In addition, the space in the room is the air-conditioning fan under the TV. I don’t know if it is effective in summer or winter (the indoor temperature of the hotel is much higher than outside) All facilities and toiletries are Pola-labeled like those in Tokyo. The staff were also very nice. I arrived an hour early and let me in directly. They were able to store my luggage for the next day.

Although this hotel had one of the cheaper room prices (for the duration that we were staying), the overall experience was average / slightly below average and on hindsight we might have splurged a little to upgrade to a bigger room in a more central location. The room was very small – after clearing out whatever furniture we could (table was packed in the cabinet where the bedding was kept and most other things had to be stacked on top of each other to maximise space), there was barely enough space to lay out two mattresses right beside our luggages (note that you have to set up the beds yourself). We spotted some strange black spots on the futon covers which deterred us from using the futons. We did, however, appreciate that the room came with a small refrigerator, a small key-operated safe box and a working heater. The walls and floors are thin, so you will hear footsteps along the corridor and (if you are unlucky, as we were, to have a room next to the toilet) gurgling sounds from the plumbing system. Bathrooms and restrooms are shared. The communal shower area on the first floor has a small bath (could accommodate approximately 3 strangers, any more would be uncomfortable), but the water is still and I'm not certain if it was actually from the hot springs. We were grateful that the usual amenities were provided (toiletries, body lotion, hairdryers). There were other onsens nearby which were open for day trips, but we were turned away by the prices (bearing in mind that we had just travelled from onsen heaven, Kusatsu town). Location-wise, while we were given a free shuttle ride from and to Karuizawa Station during check-in and check-out, we had to find our own way around the rest of the time. There are some attractions in the Naka-Karuizawa area, but the main highlights are nearer to the Karuizawa Station. The walk from the hotel to Naka-Karuizawa Station (one stop away from Karuizawa Station) takes about 10-15 minutes, and the street lights can get rather dim by 7pm and are almost non-existent by 10pm. Alternatively, there are buses that ply the area, but the bus fares were nearly double the train fares and accessibility of information was an issue (it was hard looking up bus timetables online). Another alternative is to rent bicycles from the hotel at ¥1000 per day. Service-wise – hit and miss. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, others not so. A few of them were able to communicate in English. Food-wise, there were some decent options (e.g. Harunire Terrace), but not always budget-friendly and most close by evening (sans restaurants, with pretty steep prices). There is a 7-11 about 100m away but consumption of food in the store is not allowed. It closes at 11pm. All in all, if you're fine with sacrificing some creature comforts and travelling longer distances to save on accommodation, this hotel could be one of your considerations. But if your budget is not the main priority, there may be better options els
