Pension Castile

Our family of three stayed for one night. The owner was very friendly, and the cat was adorable and relaxing. The breakfast salad was generous, and we were happy to be asked for refills of bread and coffee. The room was clean, but there was only one sink on the first floor, and the toilets (one for men and one for women) and two bathrooms were in the same area, so we often had to bump into other guests. I guess this is unavoidable when staying at a pension. Our family was on the first floor, so I'm not sure if there are toilets or sinks on the second floor. There is no refrigerator in the room, but you can store groceries in the refrigerator in the dining room, so I recommend bringing your own in an insulated bag. Also, there are no amenities like toothbrushes, towels, or facial cleanser, so you must bring your own (shampoo, etc. is in the bathroom, and a hair dryer is in the room). There is a rule not to leave trash like packed lunches in the room, so you can bring anything you want, but it can be a bit of a hassle to hand it over to the owner...but if you do bring it, they'll accept it right away. The cats were really cute and I could feel the owner's love for them.

A homey place to stay with good level of cleanliness and service. Unfortunately, facilities such as towels and decent amenities like other accommodations are not available for free.

It's far from the station and the taxi fare is 2,300 yen. The grounds are beautiful but the rooms are small. If you go to check in, you need to bring your own towel, toothbrush and pajamas. We arrived too early, but we were still allowed to check into the room. After arriving at the hotel, the owner told me a lot of rules and I was at a loss. Because there is no breakfast and dinner, I don’t want to enter the restaurant during a certain period of time. Maybe it's because we are worried that we don't understand Japanese customs and will disturb other guests.

Very satisfied. This price is fine for a B&B hotel (there are no toiletries to buy, toilets and showers are in the public area), and the environment is very good.
