Hotel Elvetia

The hotel is very central and therefore not very quiet. If you are in the front and have open windows, you hear the voices of passers-by all night long! The room is relatively comfortable, the bathroom at the level of a country hotel, the breakfast bearable, if it's crowded it's hard to find an empty table in the hall. The parking lot is a big hassle.. 200 meters away there is a municipal space that is always full and you have to bring rides into the city to find it.. the best of all, however, was that no one at the reception asked us for ID.. we paid 50 euros in cash and...receipt?..no talk!..hello!

We had gone there with my girlfriends for a single night where we are ready to sleep when we heard a knock from the bathroom. We checked to see if anyone was there but there was no one either in our bathroom or in the next room which was another bigger bathroom. We were scared and went to ask for someone's help but no one helped us, in the end we waited in the corridor in the dark alone because we didn't know what to do after about 1 hour because we were tired we decided to go and look again in the bathroom. We went in knocking on the wall a bit to see if he answers us back and after a few seconds we hear knocks again (everyone was asleep then so to speak) We had no other choice we couldn't stand the tiredness of the whole day and everything so we ended up sleeping the three of us in a bed (+that we had 2 beds instead of 3 which should normally be but let's forget that too) leave that I also fell under the bed but ok. Awful night we really don't know what could have hit us but they could help us when we asked.

We spent a beautiful three days in Karpenisi. The hotel is central with all the shops nearby. Nice view from the rooms, especially on the 4th floor. We lived in the 3rd. Everyone is willing to help with anything you ask. The room had some small damages, it is not class A but fine, you don't lack anything basic. Hot every time with hot water the main thing. The breakfast wanted a little more variety in the hot and they could make more coffees, even for a fee, in the hotel bar. In the afternoons we relaxed by the fireplace in the lobby with a nice atmosphere and a view of the main street of the city. On the downside I would put the owners who are constantly there and make you feel uncomfortable. The 75+ lady serving you is not the best. Like the son who is really waging war for the customer to pay by cash and not by card!! And finally, a big thank you and well done to Mr. Christos at the reception, and not only that (he had also come for a problem with the remote controls on our TV) who really does everything in there. A man with knowledge of the job and with patience, which he really needs with the owners above his head constantly.
