Althea Boutique Hotel - Adults Only

When we booked Althea it all was a big incognito, firstly because the hotel was brand new, hardly no website with pictures, no info on the web to be found anywhere and first time on the whole on Karpathos! Travelling with children to a greek island also means to find a spot/hotel with a little less wind and as close as possible to the beach in order to let them go freely. We arrived and it was all a big: WOW! Ok the hotel is not spot on on the beach, but you have a beautiful view from the terraces and can stay in peace and quiet whenever everybody else is on the sandy beach of Ammoopi.... The host, Maria, welcomed us in the nicest possible way - customer oriented and with exceptional friendliness. The reception terrace is beautiful and a real treat to spend some time there just reading, having a nice chat with the hosts or taking your incredible breakfast (Maria makes huge breakfasts!!!)The rooms are elegant, modern complete with every possible comfort and the quality of the beds are incredible!! (I want one of those mattress too!!). A few minutes you walk downhill to the beach and really good restaurants which we all recommend. Things will surely have changed from summer 2013, but just in case: if you walk uphill to the hotel during darkness, make sure you have a torch! the road has no lights and is curvy and honestly a little dangerous with kids. We definetly suggest you take a motorbike or car in Karpathos.There is plenty of parking space at the hotel. We learnt to know Maria and her husband Mikalis a little during our stay and they were so nice to all of us that we can only summarize our stay by saying: Maria & Mikalis in our hearts! We'll surely be back.

We spent, me and my wife and a couple of friends, a wonderful week in Althea. The studios are spacious, simply but warmly furnished and clean. In the kitchen the set of all the details are perfect for a family. Maria's breakfasts so creative with, every day, a different selection of territory products perfectly cooked. A wonderful view on the Amopi’s bay drinking a coffee on the terrace of Althea. The pure sense of hospitality. Thanks Maria

10/10 THE BEST EXPERIENCE WE HAD IN KARPATOS. THE PLACE IS AMAZING!!! THIS WAS OUR SECOMD TIME THERE AND WILL KEEP ON COMING/ THEY JUST OPENED A WOW SWIMMING POOL ON THE GROUND WHICH ELWVATE THE PLACE FROM 10/10 TO 12/10..... WOW PLACE!!! GO THERE

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. A perfect combination of possible self catering and hotel services. The rooms are very stylish, impeccably clean and provide all the necessities for self catering if wished. Breakfast is excellent - one of the highlights of the day - and the main course changes daily. The brand new pool area, complete with ‘swim up bar’ is absolutely superb. Maria has furnished it so that there is space for every guest even if the hotel is full and this gives the pool a very relaxed feel. No reserving of space early morning with towels which is so common in hotels nowadays ! We would not hesitate to go back. We travelled extensively on Karpathos and this was definitely the best hotel we saw.

Wonderful hotel, family run. Swimming pool area absolutely fantastic. Rooms are very nice, very well furnished with all possible amenities. Mrs Maria, the owner, together with her family, will go out of their way to please guests. All in all an excellent place for a fantastic vacation

Our stay at Althea Boutique Hotel was really amazing. Since our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who went above and beyond any expectation to make us feel at home. They also gave us excellent recommendations on the best places to visit on the island, which made our trip even more memorable. The hotel’s location is perfect for those who want to enjoy both the tranquility and the beauty of the island. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our vacation.
