Taman Simalem Resort
4.4/544 Reviews
Taman Simalem Resort is one of the best destinations to unwind and to enjoy the right balance of retaining creature comforts and getting up close and personal with nature. Every moment of my 5D4N @Taman Simalem Resort was certainly worth the long journey from Medan airport to the Resort. From waking up to a magnificent view of Lake Toba from the beautiful hotel room every morning to the lovely weather, hospitable staff and delicious meals, I couldn’t ask for more. Special mention to Kaban the very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour, Citra and Nida the front desk staff who saw to all our needs and never fail to check in on us daily. ThankU for a perfect holiday!
Mikie Holiday Resort & Hotel
4.2/527 Reviews
I stayed for a week at Mikie and was impressed with the level of service and hospitality at the resort. My Mikie Deluxe room was very spacious and was well appointed -- comfortable, clean and pleasant. The breakfast was delicious -- I think the Executive Chef must have put in a lot of thought into providing the daily, scrumptious morning buffet spread. I think what makes it special is that the vegetables and meat employed are sourced from the mountain that Mikie is situated on --- it doesn't get any fresher than this! The Front Office staff were friendly and helpful ----- always willing to assist in answering any questions that I may have related to Berastagi. I highly recommend this hotel.
Sapo Karo Rest House
3.8/57 Reviews
We came to Sapo Karo coincidentally, spent only one night at the hotel but can only highly recommend to stay there. The rooms are simple but we found ours clean, quiet and with a hot shower. What made our stay extraordinary was Edwin, the care taker of the hotel and aside from that our guide to Mt Sibayak in the morning. It was really extraordinary how much time he took to show us around: first to Mt Sibayak and the hot springs, then the northern shore of Lake Toba and afterwards even back to get our flight in Medan in the evening. During our time in Indonesia we hardly found a more friendly, authentic and caring guide who we dont even met as a guide but as an inspiring and beautiful human being with the best conversations and a lovely sense of humor. Thank you Edwin, it was a pleasure for us and we will be back at Sapo Karo when we are hopefully visiting Sumatra again soon! Linda and Patrick
Hotel Sibayak Internasional

We used the hotel as a base to explore Berastagi and Mount Sibayak. It's a large hotel with spacious rooms and green areas throughout. The breakfast buffet is generous and good, and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended!
Alloyna Country Cottage Brastagi
3.6/53 Reviews
This place was recommended by a friend, and although it was a little over our budget we went and booked it anyway. We travelled as a group and took 10 rooms. The rooms were very clean but they were too damp, in some rooms the water heaters were not working properly, the pillows were in poor condition. All the furnitures were beautifully handmade but all were too low that they were not really comfortable. Some beds were not in good shape. The complimentary breakfast could be much better, maybe like adding local fruits to the selection (we paid 500k-750k per room). Putting the owners’ potraits in the guest bedrooms was a little eerie 😅. However, the service was exceptionally good, manager was super friendly.
Sinabung Hills Berastagi
3.7/511 Reviews
I used it on my second Blastagi trip. It was located in a scenic location, the food was delicious, and it was crowded with many tourists. One thing that bothered me was that there was no remote control in the room as the air conditioning was throughout the building. I had to cancel due to a sudden change in my plans for the next day, but I would like to use the service again if I have the opportunity. (Thank you very much for driving me to my destination the next day.)
