I stayed at Hotel am Karlstor and loved its central location—perfect for exploring Karlsruhe! The rooms were clean and comfortable, though a bit basic. The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in smooth. The only downside? Thin walls and some street noise, so light sleepers might want earplugs. Overall, a solid choice for a short stay in the city!

I was a bit concerned about my booking as there are one out two negative comments about this place but soon after I arrived I realised that those, like mine are personal opinions. I was pleasantly surprised by my stay, the room was very spacious and the bathroom was perfectly compact. Within 5 minutes of being inside the room I heard the first tram.. my first thought was, “Great!! No sleep!” - how wrong was I, when it was finally time for me to go to sleep I found myself out cold and most likely snoring. I had an absolutely amazing sleep, that bed was so comfortable! Next morning I woke fully refreshed and to the sound of a tram. Now for the compact bathroom…. Had everything I needed… great shower and you can probably work the rest out for yourself! Breakfast was on the same floor and seemed to be miles away, I didn’t appreciate the size of the hotel! Breakfast was great, fresh buffet which was well stocked, tasty.. in fact I made 2 visits to the buffet. Coffee came out of a machine and very nice also! Everything about my stay was very good, it was my first time to Karlsruhe, but have drive past it so many times. One of two minor issues experienced… hair dryer not working.. more of an issue for the wife and cosmetically the room was a little tired. Hope to return soon for another stay to explore what Karlsruhe has to offer.

Impersonal check-in, worst experience ever. The machine did not recognise the reservation code, did recognise de reservation name but then said it could not find the reservation whereas the reservation name and dates were shown on the screen. The tel number in the lobby did not respond for minutes. We finally reached a person (!) by the phone number on the website, and after more than 30' finally could get the key to the room. They are in the hospitality business, without a total lack of human presence on site. Furthermore, there were building works on the 4th floor, with cables and wires hanging out of the ceiling - this is unsafe !

Wir (2 Erw. & 7jähriges Kind) haben zwei gute Nächte hier verbracht. Zimmer war zur Karlstraße und somit an bzw. über der S-Bahn-Haltestelle. Das bedingt auch den damit einhergehenden Geräuschpegel, aber wer zentral sein will muss in einer großen Stadt eben Opfer bringen. Zimmer ziemlich klein, Bad noch kleiner. Aber für Städtetrip unserer Meinung nach völlig okay. Und für den Preis noch besser. Außerdem eines der ersten Hotels seit längerem ohne Teppichboden. Im Zimmer Wasserkocher mit kleiner Auswahl von Teebeuteln; Ventilator. Naturkundemuseum und Haupteingang Nord des Zoos ＜10 Minuten zu Fuß, Bahnhof und Schloss ＜15 Minuten zu Fuß. Frühstücksbuffet ginge besser, hatten wir aber auch schon schlechtere. Wir würden hier wieder mit Frühstück buchen. Wenn man nett fragt wird auch nachgelegt ;-). Kaffeemaschine und Teeauswahl top. Sauberkeit: Geschirr im Zimmer erst mal nachgespült. Auch beim Geschirr am Buffet sollte man zwei Mal hin schauen. Aufzüge: Unser Zimmer war im 4. Stock. Aufzüge aber recht eng zu dritt, denke mit Kinderwagen fast unmöglich.

Sehr altes Hotel , Personal scheint freundlich an der Rezeption . Im Zimmer angekommen alles muffiger Geruch, Zimmer &Bad null geputzt , überall dreck Und an den Wänden entstehende Schimmel und Blutflecken auf dem Boden . Sehr unordentlich für das Preisverhältniss . Scheinbar keine Kreditkarten Abrechnung möglich , musste nochmal mit der Karte bezahlen . Mal sehen was wird .Bett war mit Haare , Handtücher schienen in Ordnung , Bettdecke war mir zu riskant zu benutzten sah nicht so Lecker aus .Frühstück sehr wenig Auswahl für den Preis . Nicht wirklich empfehlenswert. Dusche hat keine Türe , Zimmer kann man nicht Verschließen , alles sehr hellhörig.

Wir waren für eine Nacht im Hotel am Karlstor. 2 Erwachsene mit Baby. Super netter Service ! Zimmer sehr sauber. Komfortables Bett & nettes Badezimmer mit Shampoo, Fön … Uns wurde außerdem ein Kinderbett zur Verfügung gestellt. Alles in allem eine tolle Adresse ! Vielen Dank !

Einfach unterirdisch. Preis - Leistung eine absolute Vollkatastrophe. Was soll man sagen, Jim er sind sehr dreckig und des schimmelt an jeder Ecke. Nachts findet man keine Ruhe aufgrund der Hellhörigkeit. Nicht mal ein Verschließen des Zimmers ist möglich.
