This is my third time in visiting Kura Kura Resort since 2022. And they’re getting better and better. My room’s always at the Private Pool and I’m happy this year I didn’t find the scary bugs I found two years ago and also last year. I brought 4 of my friends this year and they also very happy and we have plan to come back next year. The staffs are always friendly, it’s like a family. Mbak Nita, mas Siswanto, mbak Emy, Rosi Fitri, new chef pak Fajar and also new bartender Didi and Jepri at the restaurant. I was thrilled when mas Sis and chef Fajar making a Sundanese menu as an option because they knew that we are Sundanese. I’m spoiled. And the dish chef Fajar made is excellent Sundanese food. I still drooling when remember his gehu and rujak cuka. I can’t wait to be there again, lying on the sand at beach and having cocktails while watching sunset.

The value for money is terrible. The rooms feel like 1970, worn out and unclean. The food is beyond boring and uncreative. Frozen seafood on an island... impossible. The service was really nice, but untrained. You have to pay extra for WiFi. Drinks and food are about ten times more expensive than in Karimunjava, about 5 kilometres away. The diving instructor is unbelievably cheeky. We were backpacking in Java for two weeks and only when I arrived at Kura Kura Resort did I get diarrhoea... after we complained, they gave us a room upgrade and dinner. Unfortunately it was still frozen seafood. The rooms were ok... Luckily we were only there for three days.

We were sent to Kura Kura Resort after a bad experience at another hotel close by and what a hotel this is. Soo peaceful, tranquil and yet typically Indonesian. We were met by “Herry”, a wonderful man, who couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were spacious and cool, the pool was perfect, complete with an overhead cover to keep the water temperature cool and the location, ideal. Just off the beach, near the jetty, close enough to everything. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone

Amazing! Kura Kura is a beautiful island resort and you will be transported to a different world. It's a perfect place to disconnect from tech and enjoy a natural detox. The accommodations are spacious and well furnished. The restaurant serves delicious Italian and local cuisine and the bar is well stocked. The place has great diving and snorkeling sites and the resort has in house dive center to take you out on fun excursions. Sit under a canopy of coconut trees with a book in your hand and enjoy a peaceful sunset with the evening breeze brushing your hair. You can also enjoy paddle-boarding in the lagoon. This is a really fun activity to learn and enjoy with your spouse or family. The hospitality is top notch and the staff are very friendly. The manager Sandro personally came to receive us and see us off at the harbour - nothing quite like a personal touch! We greatly cherish the time spent here, thank you Kura Kura :)

The experience in Kura kura resort was wonderful in every aspect: - the island itself is a little paradise with a blue lagoon and inserted in a natural park with a great biodiversity (birds, fishes, plants) - the staff is very professional, kind and helpful - even though the island is little there are plenty of activities (snorkeling, stand up paddle, Indonesian boat paddle, scuba diving, excursions, spa... And sun bathing of course) - the food was delicious with a great variety of dishes for every meal (both Indonesian and Italian cuisine) The only complaints consist in the meals timing (sometimes way too long) and in the fact that there's no medical personnel in the island.

Arriving on the 5pm boat like us, you might not initially fully perceive the beauty of this wonderful island, as the sun is already low and the light filtering through the water is dimmed. But as soon as the sun rises the next morning, the scenery changes completely, the crystalline blue of the sea presents all its shades, the frame of a crystal clear sky and a vegetation of green palms complete the ideal scenario in which to start a wonderful holiday. I stayed two weeks between the end of July and August with my family and two children aged 12 and 7. Important premise, Kura Kura is an eco-resort in Central Java and not a luxury resort in the Maldives or Polynesia. Although the level of the structure differs, the island, the nature, the coral reef and certain services are comparable to those of the most renowned destinations. In addition to the beautiful landscape of this small atoll, there are three aspects that we liked most of all and that in our opinion differentiate this atoll from many other islands visited in 18 years of travel in Asia and Oceania: 1) the constant ventilation that allows you to enjoy the sun and sea without sweating; 2) the privacy you can enjoy, you often find yourself alone or with a few other customers on the beach on the east coast or when snorkeling; 3) the "Italian" food truly comparable to Italy and some resorts in the Maldives but much superior and not even comparable to any other resort in Asia Pacific and Oceania, which is a great plus when you stay two weeks especially with children. Resort: we stayed in the pool Villa that can comfortably accommodate two extra beds. The room is spacious, with a wardrobe and a desk. The bathroom in the back is very spacious. In the outdoor garden there is a loggia with a sofa, fridge, speakers, sunbeds and a swimming pool that in the end we did not use much because in fact the natural pool of the sea is on another level! Excellent daily cleaning of the room. For the location and sun, Pool Villas No. 24, 25, 26 and 27 are recommended. Climate: the ventilation on the island is truly exceptional, especially on the east coast you can enjoy the sun all day without the sand being blown up by the wind. The west coast is a little more protected, you have to go into the water or from the snorkeling pier to get the same wind as the east coast. The restaurant area is also well ventilated both in the evening with dinner outside as well as at lunch, exceptional for us to eat under the palm trees by the sea! In two weeks we always had sun, a couple of cloudy mornings that then turned into splendid sunny afternoons, it only rained at night. Restaurant: the food is undoubtedly one of the strong points of Kura Kura. Having traveled a lot in Asia and Oceania, we have not found anything comparable, it really feels like being in Italy. They dedicate themselves to things made by them, such as bread, fresh pasta and desserts. The menu at

Kura Kura is a resort that boasts a truly unique and wonderful marine park and is located in a truly exclusive context, not easily reachable: in fact, it takes 2 flights from Jakarta of about two hours in total and about forty minutes by boat (obviously everything depends on the weather conditions and does not take into account the timing of the stopovers). We stayed in this structure for 7 days as the final location for our honeymoon and the agency had proposed it to us as an alternative to the Maldives: a really big mistake (either you have never been to the Maldives, or the communication for this structure is really wrong). In fact, the descriptions on the contract reported "the presence of white sand beaches". Unfortunately, once we arrived on the island, the scenario that presented itself was decidedly different: 80% of the island is in a wild state, so much so that the presence of thick vegetation does not allow access to the sea. This area is only accessible at night with small torches as there is no lighting and, whether it is day or night, you still have to be careful where you walk because coconuts could fall on you, given that the entire area is not "managed". In the only frequented areas (the rooms, the restaurant and the pool in front of it) everything is very well-kept and beautiful, but if you think you have to spend a week only here, the situation becomes considerably more complicated. The sea is difficult to access, the island is surrounded by a lagoon where the water reaches your ankles for more than 500 meters and, once you arrive at the pier, you find yourself in the middle of the coral in the open sea. An inexperienced person could easily panic from the currents or cut themselves on the coral. Basically, if you don't like the open sea and the boat, the only solution is to spend a week lying on the loungers on the piers (being careful of the rusty nails on them), settle for getting your ankles wet in the lagoon and taking a dip in the pool. If you really want to enjoy the sea, you need to be accompanied by diving (for a fee) offshore and always weather permitting. Shoes, masks and beach towels are provided free of charge by the facility, the use of fins is prohibited. The beach bungalows are large and well-kept, the cleanliness is excellent: to save money and pollute as little as possible, guests are asked to change towels only when necessary, they do not change them automatically every day. They do not have a TV, but a fridge and a bottle for drinking water. In the ones furthest from the restaurant (from the third onwards) the internet does not work even with e-sim. The facility does not provide Wi-Fi, not even in the common areas and, apart from diving, it does not enjoy other customer services. Basically, there is nothing else to do (so hope for good weather). The beach volleyball court is completely abandoned, a bar in the eastern part of the island is "

I would start with the context. A small island that can be explored in about 15 minutes, in the middle of a crystalline lagoon full of reef fish and coral spots, around which you can snorkel safely with shoes and a mask. Fine white sand, coconut palms and mangroves lap the beaches, numerous and full of sunbeds. There is no fighting to find a place in the sun! Upon arrival, the manager Sandro, from Rome, welcomes us with a general overview of the services, times, what to do and what to expect. Roberta Cecchetto, manager of Diving and Excursions, also introduces herself and invites us to go to the diving center the next day. The rooms, ours had a lagoon view, are spacious and, although basic, are very welcoming and modern with a fridge, safe, mosquito net and a beautiful bathroom. Remember that there is no wifi at the resort but you have to ask for a modem (for a small fee) at the reception, subject to availability. You may have to wait a few departures to have your connection! Personally, it was essential for me due to a family problem in Italy. The staff is all very young and polite, helpful and available. A very positive note to the cuisine that ranges from Indonesian dishes to international dishes and à la carte, for lunch, there are also excellent Italian proposals. Half board includes a plentiful breakfast that offers both sweet (donuts, fruit, croissants, muesli, yogurt, pancakes....) and savory (bread, eggs in all shapes...). Dinner includes a choice between 3 courses out of 4 in which each includes different choices: the main course for example offers 5 different dishes and you choose one. If you take 4 courses, the extra one will be paid for. I can assure you that 3 courses are already very very plentiful and that not only you do not suffer from hunger, but you eat really well! The Indonesian dishes are fabulous! Drinks are extra. As for Roberta Cecchetti / Diving and Excursions, this wonder woman combines practicality and competence with a lot of enthusiasm. The excursions offered are obviously linked to the sea and they are wonderful. The reef is pristine everywhere and there are, just below the surface, immense coral gardens of all types, where thousands of colorful fish swim. With a mask and snorkel you can already see everything! Warm water and therefore snorkeling at ease, even for 45 minutes / 60. The accompanying guys are very attentive and reliable. I did 3 dives, together with my husband, 2 with Roberta and one with a local dive master. I thank Roberta who gave me the refresher (I hadn't dived for many years) and who accompanied me by the hand, every time I didn't feel safe. Surely the island, a destination for non-mass tourism, allows you to receive a lot of attention, in an uncontaminated naturalistic environment. The Spa didn't drive me crazy, the girl I had for the massage, comparing the type of massage to a similar one done in another structure during the trip, didn't
