It feels like a B&B, very cozy. Paul, the owner of the inn, is very welcoming. Since it is not a traditional hotel and does not have a front desk, you need to confirm your arrival time 1 day in advance.
The arrival process was smooth and the inn was easy to find. Breakfast in each room is numbered in the refrigerator.
It's very comfortable to live here, and Paul even kindly helped light the stove. It’s perfect for a few days to explore the Karikari Peninsula and Coca-Cola Lake in depth!

Had an absolutely STUNNING stay at the karikari lodge which is situated in a little slice of paradise on the peninsula. Our hosts were so kind and welcoming and made our stay an absolute pleasure!! We would’ve loved to stay longer and will definitely be back - thank you :)

What a sweet place to stay, more comfortable than most people's home...I wish I had booked for longer! A brilliant kitchen well supplied with everything you'd need. My only suggestion would be instructions for the coffee grinder and stylish barista style coffee maker.. I was a bit scared to use it! I was grateful to get a wee message from the owners before I arrived telling me what was available in the area eg food and shopping

The space was as advertised, with responsive hosts and a warm cozy room with shared areas. I was the only guest (at the very slowest part of the low season), so I can't comment on that. However, the kitchen was very well kitted out and there were lots of sitting and lounging spaces.

The accommodation was extremely tidy and well equipped. The host, Paul, is fast and friendly replying questions and with any issue, you might bring up. One of the top ten Airbnb we have visited during our 3 months journey through NZ. Unfortunately we stayed only 1 night. We should have stayed longer, as there are many things to see around.

We spent a blissful few days enjoying the stellar private view from the Pohutukawa cabin (see photo), which had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Bonus: we enjoyed watching the neighbour's cows cruise by for a visit while the sun set on the spa pool! The shower was excellent, too. Maitai Bay, only a short drive away, was our favorite beach during our entire 3 weeks in NZ. In the other direction, the shops in nearby Mangonui had yummy fish and chips and ice cream - though we didn't need to leave the Karikari Lodge to be well fed. Katalina was so generous feeding us local seafood feasts. On our final day, even with Cyclone Gabrielle looming in the forecast, Paul and Katalina toured us down the length of Tokerau Beach -- including digging for tuatua! Quite fun once we got the hang of it. I hope we can return on our next trip to NZ. Big thanks to Paul and Katalina for welcoming us so kindly!

Thank you Paul & Katalina ! Our trip up North was Amazing my Husband and I loved the whole experience! Our stay with you was the cherry on top, we were treated like family the hospitality was Amazing ! Very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and fishing spots ( the only thing my Husband was concerned about lol.) We were very well looked after was even fed Hapuka fish n chips and given smoked fish to take Home (maybe I should have kept that secret 😋) Spent time relaxing after a big day in the Spa pool ! Accommodation was nice and Cozy loved the island theme made it feel tropical ! We will be booking again if we ever do another trip up north ! Highly Recommend staying Here! - Kahu & Eli

Such a lovely place that Paul and Katalin a have. You just feel at home immediately. It has everything you need plus Paul and Katalin were very helpful and a wonderful couple. Definitely coming back!
