Very nice and cozy hotel. Good service, clean and nice rooms. Perfect location - directly in the city centre and close to the ski lift Maiskögel. Fully recommend. We really enjoyed the time in the hotel and would love to come back here again :)

Stayed here for a week’s skiing. The hotel is typically old Austrian and very pretty. Good location for shops, bars, restaurants and the Maiskogel ski lift. The bus stops outside, so handy if you don’t want to walk - but only runs every 30 mins. The bedroom was roomy and comfortable. As a previous reviewer had mentioned, the shower area was open so no privacy which could be a problem. However, you could pull the toilet door over to create a ‘barrier’ of sorts. Sink and towel rail in the middle of the bedroom. Very odd design, a bit of a deconstructed bathroom! Bed comfy but pillows awful - had to have two but still not supportive enough. There is a wellness area with saunas but a bit small and didn’t look particularly relaxing. The hotel doesn’t provide robes, so my sister had to go up to the room in her towel.. Restaurant very good, polite and efficient staff and quality of food very good - both for breakfast and dinner. It is a shame that the hotel feels the need to charge for a carafe of tap water, (€3). This is very penny pinching especially as we had alcohol every night. The other strange thing is that guests are not required to sign against their drinks every night. This means that all or nothing could be added to your room bill at the end of your stay. In fact we got charged for two coffees we never had, but couldn’t bear to raise it with the owner as she was a bit brusque at the best of times! Adequate room to store skis and a heated boot room in the basement. Hotel will also provide ski lift passes, saving time on your first morning. Bar area had no ambience and little seating but we can recommend Hotel Tauernhof, beyond the big Brundl sports store, for a pre or post dinner drink. Friendly barman and a large, comfortable bar area. In fact, we wished we had chosen to stay there! Overall, a pretty good hotel and good value for money, just a few things let it down. Wouldn’t return I’m afraid.

This is an amazing hotel. We had a large party and were put together on the same floor. Rooms - lovely large rooms that are cleaned every day. The views from our balcony were amazing. The beds were very comfortable. Only downside was as a family of 4 (older children) there was no privacy door to the shower. Location - this is a great location. It is a short walk (5/10 mins) from the main lift and bus stop to access the wider ski area. You could hire a locker right by the lift if you didn’t want to carry skis/boots. You could leave boots/skis in the bootroom but space was limited (particulary for boots) and these are not locked up in ski lockers. We had no problem with this but some may. Food - the food was fabulous. There was a wide selection for breakfast from hot to cold offerings. Dinner - a great choice of 3 different mains as well as a set starter and dessert. There was also a salad bar which was lovely. Drinks - these came at an extra charge. If you don’t buy one and order table water it costs 3euros. They weren’t as cheap as the local bars but they were reasonable and had a good choice. Staff - they work so hard and always had a smile on their face. Very hospitable and work hard to make everyone feel welcome. I would recommend this hotel. Thanks for your hard work looking after us.

We stayed here in Kaprun, a family of 12 skiers over the new year period, great location in the village and around a 5- 10 minute walk t the main gondola up to the 3k connect lift. Staff and owners are lovely and genuinely can not do enough for you Bars and shops are really close by. Rooms were spotlessly clean, large and really warm with a big balcony over looking the mountains The food here is amazing, by far the best I have had in any ski resort hotel Breakfast has 3 hot options - scrambled and fired eggs with bacon and lots of cold options inc cereal, fruit, bread....etc we always started our days skiing fat and full !! The main meals are amazing, you have a pick of 3 mains to come with your 3 course meal, its a tough choice to choose some nights ! (always a veggie option in there too) Really enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed here for a weeks ski holiday. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of the village, just a short walk from the main ski lift & alpine coaster ride, and close to shops, bus stops & other amenities. Outside & inside the hotel has traditional Austrian style & charm. Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, with modern bathroom fittings, and large balconies with great views of the village & mountains. Staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was delicious (thumbs up to chef & kitchen staff) and the cosy bar area was great for after-dinner drinks, with a nice mix of locals & visitors. We would definitely stay here again

Such a wonderful warm welcome to this amazing family run happy hotel where we spent the most special week with our family skiing. The rooms were immaculate, clean and spacious with balconies and views to the mountains. The food was excellent- an extensive breakfast with something for everyone and as much as you can eat. Supper was equally excellent and delicious. Beer and wine ditto. All the staff are kind, thoughtful and considerate and we were sad to leave- can’t wait to be back. Thank you Angie and your team xx

Lovely hotel, traditional, the food cooked by the chef was outstanding every night. Breakfast was lovely and good variety. Only downside was we were charged 54€ for water (plain water) because my partner prefers to make his own tea. He asked for a pot of tea at meals. This was only ever half full and when asked to top it up every single time, it got a but boring when they didn't know what to do each time. Butter doesn't seem to be a thing and if the bread rolls are gone by the time you have your dinner well that's that. No roll with your soup. It was a surprise at check out that they used the excuse 'we had to wash up another teapot for the hot water every time you wanted one - and sometimes you asked for more - hence the extra charge for the service' apparently its the house rules that were not explained to us by anyone upon check in or meal times. However the wine was included with the meal but not tap water. A bit silly really. Upon check out Evelyn allowed us to put our cases behind the reception desk as they do not have a safe luggage store and we didn't want to leave valuables until our flight in an unsecured place so that was nice of her. Room was very dated but its just a place to sleep. It was opposite a cow shed which smelled of meneuere but that's the country side for you. Ski store was good and plenty of room when we stayed. Location in kaprun was good. Right near a bus stop and in the centre. All in all a good stay

We were here for dinner. I forgot my hat here. I have to say that the attitude of the staff was wonderful. I couldn't pick up the cap and they sent it to my house. I rate this establishment excellent - food and attitude. Thank you very much.
