Baymont by Wyndham Kansas City KU Medical Center

Arrived about 7 pm , no buzzer or host at desk . After about 5 or 6 hellos a young ladie came out and got us situated. The room was ok except for a few things = stained towels , remote didnt work , the smoke detector kept beeping every 10 minutes. I went to the desk again and did my hellos to get someone to help. Young lady again and she went to the room with me after stopping one room away to get a remote. We were willing to switch rooms but was rebuffed. When she heard the noise she said she would call maintenance........no show . I was able to get the chirping to stop for a short while . I wanted to **** it out of the cieling . It was driving me crazy. Asked for a noon check out and was refused check pics

(6/1/24)As SOON as we arrived we mistaken the hotel for a poorly maintained apartment complex that hasn’t been updated. When I booked this hotel I went through a 3-party (Trip.com) on the booking it stated the the hotel had a pool and that was 1 of the main reasons I booked the hotel and it’s location, also upon arrival I noticed the pool was closed I was immediately upset. I spoke with hotel representative and advised her that I wanted to cancel my reservation due to false advertisement about the pool NOT being available she advised me that I would have to contact Trip. com since I booked through them. We left, we DID NOT stay at the hotel due to having access to pool and due to hotel conditions (the pictures were NOT updated of how the hotel really looks!)I have contacted Trip.com immediately requesting a refund, they said they have to wait to get confirmation from the hotel. It has now been almost WEEK later and still haven’t received my refund. Trip.com just contacted me back today stating “They haven’t received any response from the hotel” which is very disappointing and frustrating that Trip.com is partnering with a unreliable company! DO NOT book with Trip.com nor Baymont by Wyndham! The hotel location was Baymont by Wyndham Kansas City KU Medical Center! Unfortunately it this review will NOT allow me to submit review without rating.. Zero is my rating !!

The place was well situated and clean, but guest cards don't open any exterior doors. You can only enter by the front desk, despite the inconvenience. Your room key expires every morning, coinciding with the continental breakfast. Very few television channels. I was leary of my Baymont reservations at a nearby town but it's been good.

Floors were not vacuumed at all through the entire property. No towels available when we arrived, had to ask for them. Left over dirty clothes in the room upon arrival. Property itself was in poor condition all over. Was convenient for the places we visited but otherwise if we go to that area again will definitely choose a better hotel

Customer service was out the window…the room was not okay.. either something is broken or missing.. water leaks, broken blinds, no screen on windows. Broken door lock!!!! Bed sheets visibility dirty

The hotel overall wasn't bad. Beds are firm enough that you don't immediately sink in. The furnace made noise every time it turned on overnight. Road noise most of the night too. It served its purpose but didn't blow me away.

Room was suppose to be handicap accessible. The shower barely worked and the bar was stripped that held the handheld shower head. There is no place to put shampoo or soap except the ground. Not very handicap friendly. TV kept interrupting with weather warnings about Texas and changing the channel. Floors were sticky. Outside was very unkept. Pool and hot tub were not working but were listed as ammenities. Breakfast was skimpy, no fruit, only white bread, no eggs but they had sausage patties, not stocked (no forks or napkins) and tables were dirty.

A bit of a crowd congregated out front. Outside and the parking lot are absolutely full of trash. First impression was the room was kind of clean but there was a cockroach in our bathroom. The bed was fairly comfortable and the sheets and the towels were nice.

The first room we were given had a clogged toilet when we arrived but wasn't noticed until next morning. We reported it next morning, but it still wasn't fixed by the evening, and we were told maintenance would arrive in a few more hours. Because we protested is why we got assigned a new room, which had a tub faucet that wouldn't shut off. They acknowledged this was a known issue, yet still thought we'd take this room. A new room was provided after that. The trash cans' foot pedals in the dining room area didn't work, and the lady expected us to open dirty lids to put the trash in. There were busted glass bottles in the parking lot that we had to sweep away with our feet to avoid tire damage. These bottles were still there during the entire 3 days of our stay. The internet connection was constantly dropping, never lasted more than 5 minutes. There was no janitorial service at any point in our 3-night stay. A busted van with a flat tire and 2-year expired plates parked in front of the hotel office is not the best look.
