This hotel is amazing location to Oeschinen Lake just walking about 10-15mins to cable car to Oeschinen lake.

The staff were very kind and the service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious and I was able to spend a comfortable time from early in the morning. They will store your luggage while you are sightseeing. I would like to use this hotel again when I go to Kandersteg.

Claudia and her team were so welcoming and made our stay truly enjoyable. They were helpful in instructing us on how to do laundry, providing delicious breakfasts and dinners. They were very attentive and cheerful in ensuring we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. The view of the mountains from our hotel room was breathtaking and the food was delicious. We loved our stay here and highly recommend!

We loved our stay here as the innkeepers were very helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. We loved the free parking since parking in the town is a premium. Do not miss dining in the restaurant because it is a five star event. The lamb is delicious.

This is an old-fashioned Swiss hotel. It’s just a short walk from the train station. It’s what you dream of in a Swiss hotel - quiet, comfortable, with an excellent restaurant. I go there every year. Kandersteg is a small resort, very peaceful.

Just returned from 3 nights over Christmas visiting our daughter at KISC scout camp. The Hotel Bernerhof was amazing, placed in the centre of town a short walk from the train station. We received an extremely warm welcome from Claudia & Gerhard who made us feel like family. The staff were all lovely nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a view of a massive snow covered mountain, without doubt the best hotel balcony view we have ever seen. The food was delicious prepared with obvious care and fresh continental breakfast every morning. Even when we had a moment of panic regarding our daughter getting back to camp, Claudia came to the rescue absolutely amazing. A million thanks to everyone at the Bernerhof for making our Christmas so unforgettable.

I would not hesitate to recommend this treasure of a hotel . This is our fifth visit and we have never been disappointed. I would definitely rate it five star in terms of location, food and service. Claudia and Gerhard Lehmann are the most generous and hospitable hosts you could wish for. So friendly and accommodating. The whole team are amazing and a special thanks to Claudia on the front desk who is incredibly helpful and kind. The views from our room and the accessibility to many wonderful walks and rail travel right from the hotel makes this a very special place indeed. We cannot wait to return for visit number six! ❤️
