We had a wonderful stay at Lake Lodge. We were taken very good care of, particularly with my food intolerances by the amazing chef. The setting is very quiet, the pool was lovely and the location is close to the major attractions of Sigiriya, Pidurangala and the cave temple. We even spotted some giant squirrels in the trees. Thank you Michel and staff for a memorable stay.

This charming and intimate boutique hotel was a great anchor accommodation for 4 days of touring Sigiriya, Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. The pool was fabulous, staff became familiar with us and consistently exceeded expectations. Room was clean and spacious. Air conditioning worked great and was appreciated since it rained most everyday, a nice reprieve from the hot sticky outdoors… We enjoyed our breakfasts of delicious Sri Lankan omelettes, fresh fruits and breads. (Ask for Sri Lankan heat in omelettes if you like spicy, which we do!) We ate dinner at the hotel 3 nights—all were very good. They offer a varied menu with nightly specials. Owner, Michelle, and all the staff made our stay very nice.

Very nice hotel, just 12 really nice rooms . The people are incredibly friendly, food was excellent from a small menu. It’s a little out of the way so nowhere to go out to. Pool beautifully presented. The whole place spotlessly clean, a credit to the staff.

I loved my stay here! Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Pool is a lovely big pool only a short walk from the rooms. Rooms have a great view of the jungle. However the best bit is the owner Michel who was so friendly and welcoming the whole time! Thanks you

Exceptional- we are still here and if the first night is anything to go by we are in for a treat. We arrived tired and hungry from a busy day and were soon revived after a swim and the fresh cocktails and chips that were delivered to our room. We sat on the balcony, which overlooks the forest, and completely chilled. The evening meal was truly delicious- homemade bread, the fish was so fresh and perfectly cooked. We are very content travellers .

Our stay at Lake Lodge was absolutely fantastic, the staff were so kind, welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely outstanding, I’m yet to find anywhere better! I couldn’t recommend this hotel higher to anyone looking for a great place to stay! I hope I can return soon.

What a special place. We were looked after from the second we arrived and felt so welcome. The rooms were gorgeous, pool was lovely, service impeccable with the friendliest, most helpful staff. I am vegan and they were so attentive to my dietary needs, making sure everything was suitable for me. Speaking of food, it was FABULOUS. I was served four different vegetable curries every night and each one was as delicious as the last! Without a doubt the best food I ate in Sri Lanka. The owner was so kind and generous, we felt so comfortable and content here. Thank you!

Lake Lodge is the ultimate place to stay. The location is perfect for lots of culture like Sigyria and Dambulla Caves. The food was superb with a great selection of traditional dishes. The team looked after us beautifully and were so charming and attentive. The pool was a welcome respite from the heat. The owner was a delight and so kindly upgraded us from B&B to half board for free! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, 5*!
