We stayed at MM Legacy – A Bergamont Hotel for one night during a pilgrimage and silk saree shopping trip to Kanchipuram in June 2025. Our group of five had booked two Presidential Suites and one Premium Suite. Please note that this is a brief stay review, so use your discretion while booking. Room & Amenities In general, a clean hotel throughout. All three suites were spacious, which created a calm and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms cover all basic requirements, but do not offer any true luxury—even in the Presidential Suites. As a member of Accor Hotels, I might have higher expectations regarding luxury, and I mention this only to help readers understand the lens through which I assess properties. I could therefore be biased. In-room amenities included a kettle with tea and coffee sachets, air conditioning, and complimentary bottled water (two one-litre bottles provided per room, which is appreciated). However, there were a few let-downs: • In the Premium Suite, the socket was loose, and I had to hold the plug in place to boil water. • The instant coffee powder tasted poor; the tea was passable. • Air conditioning in both Presidential Suites took over 30 minutes to cool the rooms, which was frustrating given the intense regional heat even during the non-summer month. • The fan regulator knob in one Presidential Suite (third floor) came off in my hand, indicating poor maintenance. • The corridors can be noisy and if you are someone who goes to bed early, this could be a real challenge for you. Linen & Toiletries The bed and bathroom linen were of acceptable quality—not plush, but clean and functional. Toiletries were minimal and basic but served their purpose. No frills here, and that’s perfectly fine if you manage expectations. Service & Communication The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and the Front Desk staff, especially the lady staff, were efficient and well-trained. That said, service had its inconsistencies: • I had requested a hard pillow for medical reasons at the time of booking, but this was overlooked or not communicated to the staff. This suggests that special requests made during booking—even via their official website—may be ignored. • Some staff speak Hindi, which is a plus for non-Tamil speakers. However, overall communication was weak—staff often lacked clarity, and instructions had to be repeated or rephrased. • Despite being fluent in English, Tamil, and Hindi, I still encountered gaps in communication. * The room-service QR code when scanned takes a lot of time to load but you can call them and ask for a printed menu to be sent up. Despite the above, the staff were always polite, which helped maintain a pleasant tone overall. Food & Breakfast The breakfast buffet was decent. We are vegetarians, so no comment on the non-veg dishes served, but for the rest, there was nothing particularly memorable or problematic either. A satisfactory experience overall. Location The hotel is located outside of Kanchipu
