We only booked this restaurant last minute but it was absolutely worth it. They check the reservations in the morning so they can get the right amount of fresh ingredients. Since we just booked only a few hours in advance, they couldn't promise us everything of the menu but we got everything we asked for anyway. The restaurant itself is very cosy and the service was perfect and exceptionally friendly. The food was fresh, tasteful and to be honest, one of the best sushi we ever had. Especially knowing there are only two people working the place, this definitely deserves a visit in Kanazawa.

A charming place not too far from the Kenroukuen garden. Nice atmosphere. We arrived really early and received a very warm welcome from the staff. Everything was delish- the avocado salad, the cold tofu, the sashimi, nigiri sushi, grilled prawns…. Had a really enjoyable meal!! Highly recommended ….

This is a hidden gem of Kanazawa. It's a tiny traditional inn run by the fabulous Fedora, a stunning Russian goth and her partner. The food is amazing and Fedora is a great host. You might need to book, though, as it's a tiny place and popular with this in the know. It is tucked away in a residential area not far from the castle but it was one of the highlights of our trip. We stumbled on it by accident as we were wandering around the streets near our apartment. Worth finding.

This review is more of a personal note to Atsushi and Fedora, a huge Mahalo from the 4 of us from Hawaii who had the great pleasure of you as host and chef on the 18th of September. Who knew that we would be graced with such a wonderful expression of sushi that none of us experienced either in Japan or Hawaii, what a treat. Not only did we have great sushi we had Fedora as host & chef. She made us feel as welcome as if we were regulars. Since coming back to Hawaii, my wife and I have been trying to work out a return trip, just so we could stay at your inn, that way we could have the pleasure of your company and food for more than an evening. Hope to see you soon. Mahalo nui loa, ein besonderes dankeschön and особое спасибо

Small cozy restaurant. The staff was happy to explain the menu, nice and friendly. The food was delicious(we ordered sashimi, sushi roll and wagyu beef and all of this was very fresh) and with reasonable prices. We enjoyed it .An additional plus is that you can reserve a seat through the internet

We had dinner at Atsushi on our first night in Kanazawa and I have to say the meal was outstanding. I’ve eaten a lot of sashimi and sushi in my time, but even so, the quality, flavours, and attention to detail by Feodor and Atsushi puts it up with my favourite meals ever. Mrs Ex-Punk and myself shared a Crab Miso soup and a sashimi plate as starters, both of which were delicious. We followed these with three sushi plates - Green Tiger Rolls (prawn tempura, avocado, cucumber and spicy tuna), Spider Rolls (crispy fried soft shelled crab, flying fish roe, cucumber, mayo) , and Spicy Tuna Scallop Rolls (Spicy tuna, scallop, chilli). The portions were generous, so we paced ourselves, which also meant that the delicious flavours stayed on our palates a little longer. The wines by the glass available perfectly complemented the wonderful food. The restaurant is beautifully designed to complement the lovely old building it is in, which is in a quiet backstreet right next to the castle and Kenroku-en Garden. Co-owner Feodor was delightful throughout and even helped us improve our colloquial Japanese. So all we can say is arigatō gozaimasu.

my mum and i wanted to have a sushi based christmas dinner in kanazawa, since it’s well known for its good sushi, so we chose ataushi restaurant and we can say it did not disappoint! it’s cozy and welcoming and the food is high quality, perfectly cooked and delicious. we ordered a matcha green tea and the chef made it in front of us and it was amazing, both in taste and presentation. the chef is a really warm and welcoming person and knows english. she was really kind and gifted us, as a surprise, dessert for christmas! we highly recommend this place because we had an amazing time!

This inn made my first post-pandemic outing a warm and memorable one. The owner/chef was very accommodating and generous. I enjoyed a wonderfully seasoned meal with a perfectly paired wine (chef's recommendation) and conversation. The futon in the room was surprisingly comfortable. Will definitely consider again!
