Awesome Palace

I used to be a frequent guest at this property. But my most recent stay was the stuff made of hospitality nightmares. I stayed with my aged parents here for a one night stay. After we reached, I asked for our luggage to be removed from the taxi but to no avail. So, I carried in the luggage myself. We had to ask housekeeping for everything one by one including something basic like extra towels. Room service brought us the wrong dish which we had not even ordered. When we asked for mineral water and some simple slices of lemons and chilli, it came long after we had our dinner. During the night, we including my father who was undergoing treatment could not sleep because there was a party at the hotel till late night with guests screaming in the corridor right outside our room in the middle of the night. The next morning was worse. Never during the course of the booking online or over the phone was it ever mentioned that breakfast would be served only from 9am in the morning! Is that a rational time to start breakfast at a hotel of supposedly of this standard. We went down to breakfast at 9:30 and found that nothing was barely ready. The single server was near tears saying he had been on duty till 2:30 am the previous night. It wasn't his fault. It is the ***agement's fault. Don't reopen and charge your normal rates when you are not even ready and equipped to serve your guests half decently. If i had received a free stay also after this experience, i will gladly turn it down and give it to my worst enemy. The most useless, hopeless, characterless third class hospitality experience.

The check in was smooth and the staff friendly. Room service is prompt and the food is wonderful. The breakfast spread does not have ***y options but still it is good enough. You have to mind your steps though as the flooring of the reception area and the restaurant has been done in ***y levels and chances of tripping is very high. But the down side is the tiny room size and tiny bathrooms. I had out up in the executive room which was costing around Rs. 7000 per night but the space was too limited. Some of my colleagues were staying in the ordinary rooms costing around Rs. 5000 per night where there was hardly enough room to keep the luggage and only one solitary chair could be fitted in the room for someone to sit. No chance of having friends or visitors over for a cup of tea.

am an architect & travelled to guwahati oftern for work. the hotel stay was booked by my client due to close proximity of the ongoing project site. its relatively a new hotel, (december 2020) hence everything was brand new. my review for room 304 as under : 1.excellent location - on the main road so connectivity through road is very easy. 2. big rooms with comfortable mattress. 3. comfortable seating & writing table next to the full ht fixed glazing to enjoy the busy GS road view while you are working. 4. large bathroom. 5. adequate supply of toiletries. 6. food is tasty & palatable (room service) and they have wide variety in the menu to choose from. areas for improvement 1. the staff needs to trained more in hospitality, especially the front office staff as they sounded bit rude in dealing with guests (not only me but 1 another guest had the same observation) 2. they need to have allowance for deodorant for the service staff or get their uniform washed daily as they were quite smelly. 3. the windows are not sound proof so the traffic sound could be disturbing if you a light sleeper 4. the breakfast had a decent spread but was not so well ***aged. the food layed in the buffet were so not appealing in terms of how they were served (more like just dumped in the cheffing dishes) this areas needs a lot of attention. 5. MOST IMPORTANT (atleast for me) the HOT water supply in the bathroom is BAD. the water is barely luke warm and that too for just a minute or so then its supper chilly. for a person like me who is use to for hot water bath, the shower there felt like an ice bucket challenge to me. a report at the front desk re the problem did not yield any solution so i had to live with it. cheers to team Apollo grand Date of stay: June 2022

The experience was outstanding. Cleanliness and staff are a real asset. Rajan, Dipu, and Priya, Ranjitha, Komal and no o mention the best Is the young chef both brilliant and passionate. The price is a bit on the higher side for a hotel with no bar r a spa. The experience otherwise was five star
