Best Hotel in Kampot
Don’t stay in room 2 it’s under the bar and the bass beats start at 7am and go to the wee hours
Food is good staff is friendly expats are over the top rude and I even heard a guy yell “the south will rise again” so ya, we know why he’s out here
But you won’t find a more central location, cooler rooms (neat little balconies) or a better DVD collection, anywhere in South East Asia
Happy hour rules here
Don’t make a mistake and stay somewhere else

The staff were warm and helpful. Modest room. Clean. Had everything one would need. Our double room included a "patio," though it was more of a tiny 1x1 meter smoking nook – more amusing than relaxing - however great if you are a smoker:-) Bonus points for the in-house restaurant, which made it easy to enjoy a meal or snacks.

The room is excellent really gave you that authentic indochina feeling. Decorated very much in a traditional style yet had a modern feel. The room was cleaned everyday and we got fresh towels when required. Some hotels now have moved to different cleaning schedules such as on request or every other day so to get everyday without asking was great. Staff were very friendly and provided a good service. Breakfast offered a mixture of dishes and was table service not a buffet which I liked, no food standing about. Also breakfast was not at set times so a late riser like me ended up with brunch. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Good food. but a bit pricy for me as a local. But recommend for someone who want to give yourself a nice treat. It's near the town and the seahorse there. just a small walk, and you'll be there. Also there are many people there in the restaurant......

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in late November, ‘24. It is a friendly, comfortable and convenient small hotel which was a good base for exploring Kampot and the surrounding region. The hotel is located on the main waterfront avenue, a very pleasant place to walk during the morning and evening hours. There are a number of shops and restuarants along the avenue, but one of the best restaurants is on the second floor on the hotel. The food is quite good and it has a nice open air view of the waterfront. We wound up eating dinner twice there, as well has having breakfast each morning. The rooms are all on the street level and are accessed by a hallway that extends away from the street entrance, None have a view of the river, and some, including ours (#2) have only a limited view of the outside. Despite this, our room was very pleasant. It was small but had a high beamed ceiling and was attractively furnished. There was a built-in luggage shelf that unfortunately was too narrow for our suitcases and we had to find places elsewhere in the room. The king bed was very comfortable and the a.c. was fairly quiet and effective. The bathroom was good sized and there was adequate storage space. Kampot has a number of excellent examples of Art /Deco architecture along the riverfront. Unfortunately the view is somewhat obstructed by storefront signs and displays. One notable exception is the riverfront Starbucks, housed in the old fish market. This is worth a stop just to see the design. Another example is the Old Cinema Hotel and Restaurant set back a short way from the river, This is a gem of restored Art Deco, and it would make a great alternative to the Rikitikitavi as a place to stay. The pleasant interior courtyard houses a restaurant where we had an excellent lunch on our last day. If we had more time in Kampot we would have eagerly returned here for dinner. Kampot is in a rich agricultural area and is renowned for growing pepper. A big attraction is La Plantation not far outside of town. Although it is quite touristy, it is a worthwhile excursion to learn about growing, processing, and culinary use of pepper. We had an excellent guided tour of the pepper tree orchard and plantation facilities, complete with a pepper tasting session and a pepper-infused lunch which was pretty good except perhaps for the pepper ice cream at the end. Overall, we found the Rikitikitavi to be a comfortable and convenient place for a short stay in Kompot, and we recommend it. But if you like places with unique charm, you might also consider Hotel Old Cinema.

Great hotel, with a very cool bar and restaurant upstairs overlooking the river walk. Loved everything.

Small hotel but convenient. Hotel is located right in front of the river. Easy to get around. Food was okay.
