The picture given of the cheaper “rooms” doesn’t show the outside. Pictures looked like they might be basic huts, but when I got there I was surprised by these low structures. They looked like dog kennels. When the local guy opened three door, it was so hot, I thought it’s more like an oven! 😅 On my way back, I saw this traditional grave and that reminded me, the best way to describe them is like traditional Chinese/ Asian graves.
I switched to the air-conditioned room but there was no soap, shampoo, or shower gel. The room also spelled. I asked where I could get these things, and the local guy told me about a supermarket nearby but didn’t tell me what time it closes so I didn’t get to take a shower!
The British sounding owners just sit there like mystery shoppers. Not a word!
The only plus was that the food proportion was quite good for the price and I also saw a Tokay gecko. Also, wasn’t a fan of the stray dogs and the pools looked gross with the owners daughter and mostly locals swimming in the smaller one.
If you aren’t on a strict budget and without a joint to overlook the inconveniences, maybe save on the tuktuk ride and stay at one of the hotels in town. Also, the spa closes quite early.
